DarlingYext, 28 Aug 2026On one hand, I get you, I understand, but there isn't one a company that isn't lying... moreThe main difference between Samsung and Chinese manufacturers is that people catch Samsung in a lie even during the presentations of their phones, as happened with the lie about the 10-bit display of the S26U. 🤣 For Chinese manufacturers, they have to work hard to discover their lie.
Superpower2030, 28 Aug 2026I havent seen anybody test those claims about sic so whatever.Do you even know what Si/C is and what Si and C are used for?
First, read a little about the technology and then draw conclusions.

If I wanted and iPhone I would buy ... moreGuess you haven’t tried out the Xiaomi 17, Oppo x9, Vivo x300, all of these are the same form factor as your iPhone 17 pro and their design’s aren’t iphone inspired especially the Xiaomi 17.
ProMaxUltraAreBricks, 28 Aug 2026So you "dont care what the chinese guys do" and you "dont need to read or watch... moreWhy the f*** should i care about the technically truth ? All Top 3 Ultra phones are chinese and mine is one of them ! If my phone would be underperforming in real life it would be a complete different story.... The only one who is so obsessed with Lab test and the technically truth is you ! Buy whatever you want or blow his boat i dont care 🤷
I thought Samsung had already started making 20000 mAH battery.
What happened to that project? Did it fail?

That is genuinely childish, selfish and pathetic. I wasn't expecting anything better from you 🤡
Thankfully, some people actually care about technical truth and consumer rights (mainly Chinese people it looks like), who actually want to know the real usable battery capacity / max charging speed of the expensive phones we buy, like the X200U I owned and the Magic8 Pro Air I've still got around.
ProMaxUltraAreBricks, 28 Aug 2026Being 'impressed' by battery life doesn't excuse hiding how the tech works. As ... moreOn one hand, I get you, I understand, but there isn't one a company that isn't lying to their customers, none of them should but they all do. I care about the product I'm getting, and the end results. Not gonna sit around and benchmark my phone the whole day, if it has the same performance as review units, not gonna pull apart my phone to check if it has the exact battery size that was advertised, not gonna monitor my phone while it's charging if it actually ever hits the advertised charging speeds. It's fast, and reliable, lasts long and charges fast, and that's that. Actually I haven't even purchased this phone because a review praising, haven't bought a single phone like that, I liked what it offers, and there is nothing else like this on the market, uninterrupted display, mute switch, variable aperture, phones costing 2-3 times this one don't even have any of these. These are all important features for me, yes, but all I'm trying say is buy the phone that you like and offers the most of what's important for you, there is no perfect, but you might be able to find one that's perfect specifically for you.

My 17 Ultra holds longer than my wifes S26U. So i dont care what you, geekerwan or any other brickhead writes 🤷 And you know why ? Cause i am happy with my 900€ 17 Ultra and it meets all my standards 🤷 So i dont care what the chinese guys do as long the phones are this good like at the moment 🤷
DarlingYext, 28 Aug 2026Well, I haven't, I bought the previous gen, so not the Z80 Ultra, but the Z70 Ultra and I... moreBeing 'impressed' by battery life doesn't excuse hiding how the tech works. As Geekerwan pointed out (+Huawei CTO), we want manufacturers to embrace silicon-carbon anodes and higher energy density.
But the issue is dishonesty. Some brands promote massive numbers while hiding reserved capacities, rigged review units and safety margins, denying consumers their right to know. If you advertise 6000 to 10000mAh+, you owe a clear answer on what is actually usable. Advertising a few hundred mAh less won't kill your brand.
As consumers, we have the right to know. You cannot simply brush it off with, 'well, the battery is still bigger than X either way' as if that settles it.

Superpower2030, 28 Aug 2026Battery life can be tuned for whatever. Im talking about why it hasnt degraded much. It's not just that. Even charging it to 80 percent (of full capacity) almost doesn't matter. Charge the battery however you want, after 1 year the difference will be a statistical error.
The materials in the batteries "age" regardless of whether you use them or not.
The problem is mainly the high temperature and mostly the shortcomings of the technology. And this is where Si/C batteries come in, because they are an improved version of LiIon and solve or minimize all the problems with aging and degradation of LiIon batteries, as well as now allow them to be charged with a much higher voltage without leading to degradation.

When your phone has a large enough battery, you don't need to set anything for better SoT, such as using it only on 4G to save battery.
Superpower2030, 28 Aug 2026Sure, you and gsmarena dont do the same tests.Of course not, but my usage stays the same no matter what phone I use, so that doesn't change the fact that the Moto Edge 70 Pro with a bigger battery and significantly better test scores should've performed better, instead it was consistently worse. It also doesn't change the fact that both of these phones have very good battery life, easily 8-9 hours of SoT on the nubia and a little less on the Moto.

However, even Chinese devices have loads of bloatware that sometimes cannot be uninstalled (Xiaomi for instance). Many major brands except Apple (as it is a closed ecosystem) insist on having their own apps that are equivalent to what google offers already. The less known brand are indeed not doing that (probably because they don't have access to the huge finances that Sammy has for example or it's against their philosophy. As a customer you will, sadly enough, always face things you don't want but are shoved in your face anyway. A truly modular software where you can choose what you want and what not isn't existing unless you opt for a Linux phone.
