voulon42, 30 Jul 2026??? Do you understand the concept of this phone? Obviously it will be more expensive if they g... moreWith that weak SoC you will be forced to replace the phone If you are not a stutter fan.
So you can keep all this nonsense about how much they "achieved in terms of sustainability for people and planet" to yourself.

They should have put a lot more potent SoC like Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 along with 16GB+512GB even If It meant higher price. At least in this case you won't have to worry about stutters for a long time so no need for a new phone.

Anonymous, 30 Jul 2026They pick the processor based on which are given guaranteed long-time support by manufacturers... moreAnd what good is a weak SoC with supposedly long-time support by manufacturers? You like stutters so much?
Btw from when does Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 have longer support than a faster Qualcomm SoC?
Seriously, I am in awe of the nonsense you are capable of saying.

Anonymous, 30 Jul 2026Ok so you hate apple, google and samsung Noted Also none of them is truly compactBase iPhone and base Samsung S class use to be like 147mm tall and these were the smallest phones out there to get but indeed these were never called compact. Now these are 150mm tall just like Google Pixel that have large bezels or the base Xiaomi flagship with 6.36-6.4 inch screen.

Still the only more compact size phones out there. But none of these make any sense to be small or compact phones. I want something like 6 inch screen max with no bezel so the phone be small while i am also not willing to spend over 300 euro for it cause the point of compact phone is not to use it as a media device and also if the phone cost 300 euro then minimum should be something like SD 7s series or Dimensity 7300

Cause we live in this world where everything is compensated with more RAM and performance instead of optimizing everything to run well on lower specs hardware.
While also everyone use AI now to write code so AI care even less about optimizing to use less RAM and performance

Anonymous, 30 Jul 2026You stuck in 2012? Where is that sea of small phones, like below 70mm width, good os support. Mwah, 2017 had enough smaller devices too.

Anything post covid from Android is sadly cursed unless you don't care about good os support.

3.5mm is not a must for me, but I would love to have it and ditch my dongle.

Cpt.Power, 30 Jul 2026Even without a jack phone is perfect every person can use bluetooh earplugs or earphones or ev... moreHard disagree

For one, there are no compact phones with good os support, anything above 145mm and 70mm in width is NOT compact.

Second, none of the brands you mentioned makes compact phone, iPhone 13 Mini was the last one and that was in 2021.

Third, how about you do NOT decide if someone needs 3.5mm and compact phone?

99%+ of the market is flooded with big phones without 3.5mm, even budget phones ditch it more often.

The other commented asked for something that makes sense from a usability AND environmental standpoint (important because what Fairphone stands for as a company).

If it had a 3.5mm nobody is forced to use it, but you don't nees dongles and do not create extra wear on the USB-C port.

If we had plenty of compacr devices with 3.5mm, sure you could be right.

But it's the other wya around, some people really want a smaller phone and wirh 3.5mm, and you casually waltz here to complain it should not.

The market is nothing else but bug phones, and 3.5mm is impossible to get on anything but sony or beyond cheap bad phones.

Unihertz Jelly star or pro is only 3 inch smartphone a trully compact one.
Titan 2 by Unihertz is another trully compact phone with querty great specs for affordable price.
And the most compact of all with unlimited support or until it dies is Zanco T1 tiny or his successor Zanco T2 tiny.

But the way their products are easily reparable with parts they provide at reasonable prices is quite convincing towards serving a real environmental benefit by generating less e-waste from defective devices.

They cannot sell a phone with a record-long firmware support pledge, if the SoC doesn't come with at least as long manufacturer support. That is what I CLEARLY told YOU. That is why these types of long-pledge phones ends up with "mediocre" processors, as manufacturers severely limits the processor options with extra long support guarantees. The same thing goes for Samsung's business phones, like the Xcover. Sure, they could put a 400 euro flagship chipset in them. But that is not a realistic alternative for brands with limited revenue.

This phone is so easy to repair on its own that even a dumb or clumsy can do it on its own.
And the best part is 5 years of warranty where people gets free spare parts o fix their devices.
                                      No other brand does this.
                                      Fairphone is trully impressive.

At one point they are best of all other brands they are only ones to trust their devices enough to give 5 years of warranty and 10 years software support.
While many other brands gives 5, 7 even more years of support no other brand outside EU gives more than 1 year of warranty and 2 years inside EU which in case where devices cost more than 500 is disgusting and in cases where device cost 2000 or more is worse than that.
And thats is trully impressive. No need to make 20-50 or more devices a year.
One or let say 3-5 but perfect in every point and angle make outstanding miraculous differences. And having a 5 years of warranty is trully awesome in my opinion.
