What does this mean? What's better about it? Not saying I don't believe, but it's the first time I hear this. I'm tempting between the honor magic V6 and z fold 8 ultra
Why is the screen barely any wider when it's unfolded, whereas when it's folded the non-ultra is significantly wider? According to the dimensions in the specifications on GSMArena, both phones basically double their dimensions when unfolded.
I love gsmarena and visit frequently, but this article is something else. Somewhere along the way you seem to have lost your ability to form proper sentences and get your intended messages across.
"The difference in thickness helps quite a bit too (8.9mm vs. 9.7mm)"?! Helps which device in what? Which one is easier / more comfortable when held...?
And what about that weight? Why is 201 too heavy for the short phone (my Oppo Find N2 is a hefty 237, so this is a very welcome 15% reduction) and 215 is a great feat for the Ultra where other regular phones are 190?! I honestly cannot follow.
Anonymous, 22 Jul 2026very weak phones expensive but you get less definitely the fold wide the biggest disappointmen... moreSamsung phones are know to get their actual prices within 6 to 8 months, so basically in early 2027 you'd be able to buy those in normal prices.
lgsf, 22 Jul 2026Worse part is this crease implementation that will get much worse over time like all the other... moreLOL what are you talking about
Dzong, 22 Jul 2026TL;DR: one's taller and one's widerYes, these are available choices that would match consumers that have different perspective. For now I am sure the wider one looks odd than the taller one. Therefore it is easy to guess for now that the taller one would contribute more on its sales. I hope I am wrong.
neeKoheng, 22 Jul 2026Wow Samsung just adupted new battery technology? I'm I dreaming?Yes, this is a good news. No one predicted this before. So it should be appreciated. The chance to make the foldable thinner is widely opened now. Just let them have the opportunity to avoid overpriced.
Welcome back, OG Galaxy Fold. I remembered you had a 4:3 main screen way back in 2019. That alone makes me go straight for the non-Ultra model. That's the one I'd have.
Anonymous, 23 Jul 2026they akways said samsung will use it when they work out the flaws and clealry that's why ... moreNo few said it's unstable, less long term health, less cycles
It's a wow from me. The way they powered these foldable phones with Snapdragon 8 Elite gen 5 is correct that make them usable phones to handle heavy tasks that the midranger would suffer from.
lgsf, 22 Jul 2026Worse part is this crease implementation that will get much worse over time like all the other... moreI have a heavily used Z Flip5. That's a three years old Samsung foldable. I've dropped it, literally, countless times. Even from a bicycle going well over 20kph. The screen is fine. Exactly like new. There's a small scratch on the bottom glass bit, the non-display part. Both inner and outer displays are pristine. The screen protector is as easy to replace as on any other phone.
The inner display CANNOT change its shape on a Samsung phone. That is scientifically IMPOSSIBLE. The crease is held in an exact position by the hinge and by the guides on the upper side. The only way you'd be able to change the shape of the crease is by either breaking the glass or bending and breaking the entire phone, and I can GUARANTEE you that Samsung's metal alloys are in an entirely different league than any garbage coming out of China.
Oros, 22 Jul 2026One handed operation ? How about, the stupid thing fits in your pocket instead of being a near... moreOne handed users aren't exactly wing excluded here. Well aside from iPhone users. I broke my arm once and I was using an iPhone at that time. Impossible to use with one hand unless you have a thumb the size of a banana.
video ends up looking larger on the wide, would be the one I'd go for
ua82, 22 Jul 2026Fan boys saying Silicone carbon are no good now Samsung uses them although only 5000mah they akways said samsung will use it when they work out the flaws and clealry that's why they finally are and besides the difference is hardly major here
ua82, 22 Jul 2026Fan boys saying Silicone carbon are no good now Samsung uses them although only 5000mah I never said Silicon Carbon battery were bad.
Hmm no.
Import an Oppo Find N6 or Vivo XFold 6 from China for €1200. Better specs than this Zfold 8 Ultra and save €1000. Companies are becoming greedy beyond measure...
Worse part is this crease implementation that will get much worse over time like all the other foldables from Scammy did.
Oppo's implementation is miles ahead.
Gonna ditch my fold 7 and get the Oppo
