I Just Read, 23 Jul 2026Just this week alone every Zfold 8 article same debunked nonsense! How many times are you go... moreYeah sure, a 10MP telephoto sensor might be able to outperform 50MP telephoto sensors, that are also significantly larger than it, in theory maybe, but in reality it doesn't. No camera centric phone uses such miniscule sensors, and while I get that this isn't one, it's still a $2000+ phone that really should have a better telephoto, and they clearly could fit one that is at least the same size as their ultrawide camera, they simply chose not to.

Anyways, if it wasn't already clear, you just made it crystal clear that you specifically have issues with me, not my comments, given that most of my opinion was actually positive about the real upgrades Samsung has made with this generation of the Fold duo, but of course you chose to ignore that part of my comment.

I love everything about the Fold8, except the lack of a decent (or any) telephoto lens kills the product for me :(

"Yeah, and the one that actually has a telephoto is even more expensive, and even that only has a tiny 10MP joke sensor."

If you don't accept corrections perhaps actually reading it yourself before reposting it again, indeed EVERYONE should see and Google check

Accodring to AI. "Physics and how the camera captures light A 10MP telephoto camera can outperform a 50MP sensor in zoom performance because of pixel size Smartphones have tiny camera sensors. If you cram 50 million pixels onto that small space, individual pixels become microscopic. A 10MP sensor has much LARGER pixels that absorb more light, resulting in brighter, less noisy zoomed photos in dim environments.
      Better Low-Light Performance
Again its not battery size it's recharge cycles!!!
Repetitive captious and oh so few characters that phone comparison looks like a trilogy

            10mp 3x 1/3.5" telephoto and it's an "ultra" lol

And Samsung is finally using Si/C battery on their phone, where are the copers now saying Si/C is useless, untested, unsafe tech?

it's all just marketing to make the phones more expensive. Chinese makers will follow suit. Thanks for another inflation samsung.

Z Fold 8 is too small for me.
                I like the Ultra more.

I have a simple question: what is the point of folding it?

While the "Flip" model certainly offers the key advantage of being compact enough to fit in a pocket.
the "Fold" model creates awkward black bars because it doesn't match modern video aspect ratios; furthermore, it lacks S Pen support and doesn't seem to offer superior productivity. Its camera performance also falls short of top-tier standards.

Who exactly is the "Fold" model intended for?
Wouldn't a tablet that folds, supports the S Pen, is thin, has no camera bump, and offers sufficient battery capacity be a better solution?

Good on samsung for embracing SiC batteries.
Though the capacity is something of to be desired.
I mean they could go 5,500 mAh or 6,000 mAh.
Nonetheless, a small w for samsung. Kudos.

Seeing samsung moving again and/or listening to customer feedback is refreshing.
Though I hope this is not a one off.
We'll see, but I'm not gonna keep my hopes up, and gonna keep my expectations low. For now.

Don't forget, artificial chip shortage and cartel behavior, so.....

All those screens and no stylus support still. Will it ever come back? The Motorola Razr Fold is the better phone all-around. Better cameras, better battery, stylus support, better charging speed.

16:10 and 4:3 aspect ratio on a foldable smartphone. It'll be much better than 19.5:9 aspect ratio slop slab smartphones. That's mighty tempting. ^^; But it's $2000 or so. :(

They're using a si/c battery. So, I was 100% wrong about the timeline. However, my belief they will be the only company with si/c and solid state batteries on small electronics by 2030 looks more probable.

Now comes the bigger question. Have they just put themselves in a position to supply batteries to Apple?
