If this is true then I will hang on to my Flip 7 till it dies, then get the Flip 8 and never use another phone again. I refuse to go back to the normal slab phone format. This really sucks lol

Well, form factor wise, like I’ve been saying, the flip is a dead end. It’s a form factor reminiscent of the old dumbphone era without relevancy in the age of smartphones. Literally all people I’ve seen having a Flip always left it on its open state, defeating the point of it being foldable in the first place. Why? Because we are at the age of smartphone, where we are interacting with the large screen most of the time. The Flip only add an extra inconvenience of having to unflip the phone first, and people dislike inconvenience. The Fold makes more sense as the phone is still usable as a regular smartphone while folded.
When even the Chinese are not that interested, you know it’s not that popular.

* A1X & A2X completely
* A3X every 2nd year
Not decided on A5X but make that or A3X global instead of having F and M series as well.

And both men and wom... moreDon't get me wrong they're not exactly common compared to the usual suspects like the iPhones and normal Samsungs out there, but I'd say it's about as prevalent as the recent non-a Pixels, and our networks are pretty modem agnostic over here. They're definitely a lot more common than 'thin' phones, I've never even once seen anyone using an S25 Edge outside a store and it was only 2 days ago that I'd even seen a second iPhone Air in the wild. Those are incredibly unpopular devices.

Here's hoping the Huawei Pura X (not X Max) form factor gets some traction.
Learning that Android apps installed w Easy Abroad or GBox don't work on the cover screen, I decided it's not for me.
FWIW, all the talk about creases is dumb. What's way more annoying is how reflective foldable screens are. If they fix that I'm set for life

And once every 2-3 years.
They release every year same devices with minimum or even less improvements than devices from previous years.

Actually, I was so close to getting one. My concerns were hinge allowing to open the phone with one hand and inner screen to last for at least 5 years. My dream flip phone specs would be an exact s26 plus which, folds in half.
I assume, the new wide foldable form factor will define the future of flip phones. It will basically be a wider flip phone. If flip8 won't outperform fold8(wide), it won't make sense to to invest resources on a flip successor.

I really wanted a samsung flip because the moto razr has so many bugs with gemini with the external screen and the weak update support. So i was going to get a flip 7 when prices go down.
