why has it taken this longPeople also have begged for compact size phones in budget to middle class but none of the brands are interested to satisfy the market. You get them only as base flagships from Apple and Samsung and then a bit larger with Google and Xiaomi
For me something like 5.8 inch screen would be like a dream come true without bezel and the phone be under 140mm tall. With hardware that is something like SD7/7s or D7xxx series in them with single camera and like 5000mAh battery as it all should now fit in that size and be priced under 250 euro
For just compact size feature on the phone i can't understand to spend the flagship price on them. The use the phone will have is like light browsing and mostly only calls so there is no need any flagship specs.

HTC was the first one to introduce a phone with two cameras... moreOk, if HTC and LG really claim those innovations first, then why did both of them eventually exit the smartphone business? Huawei is still here, pushing forward with new designs and technologies, while HTC and LG couldn’t sustain their momentum. 😏

HTC was the first one to introduce a phone with two cameras (HTC M8), and afterwards, LG dived in with the G5.
Huawei tried the dual camera idea with the P9, but they used a B/W sensor that provided light gathering capabilities, but nothing else. More useful than a macro/depth sensor, but not by much.
They finally started getting good at this until the P10/Mate 20. Then, they decided to sell network equipment to Iran, and the rest is history.
Also, I wouldnt call releasing several different sizes of notches a "revolution". Notches were awful back then and are just slightly less awful nowadays thanks to punch holes being as small as possible.

I think 18:9 is the max I would want a phone to be. 16:9 is nice, but It can't be bigger than 6,3" tho.
