It packs a lot of features that are removed from smartphones since long ago, the buyer also gets premium headphones as freebie, and the phone, it's like, something crafted for a niche set of buyers

No matter how you want to slice it, many parts of the 1 VII was completely unacceptable at that price point. It actually had worse battery life than the 1 VI which combined with the shockingly bad short cycle charge rate meant that a 15 minute charge netted about 4:11 of 'active use' score, or something I'd like to coin the 'if you have 15 minutes and any charger to charge your phone before an impromptu trip to the pub how mad are you going to be when you need to call an Uber' test. This is the kind of number where you'll really want to be charging overnight, likely every night unless you're a light user (and if you're a light user: maybe don't spend £1400 on your next phone).
To give an idea how bad that number is:
-the Pixel 10 Pro XL gets 4:45 due to horrendous efficiency which is a number I would call equally unusable and borderline insulting. Needing f*cking 18V PPS to get such fast too is hilarious, it's awful and the overall battery life is also so bad the only people who should ever buy this phone are the most dedicated of masochists.
-the iPhone 17 Pro Max (a phone often roasted on here dogsh*t charging rates) gets 6:49 by the same maths due to the efficiency being significantly better. It's still not particularly fast especially given it's so expensive, but it'll probably get you out of a problem and it'll do that on whatever laptop charger you can find, no PPS or proprietary bullsh*t required to get this result (particularly great here in the UK where bringing a charger from home to use at work is never allowed due to well intentioned but severely outdated workplace fire safety regulations).
-the Oppo Find X9 Pro gets about 6:34 (and within error on 11V5A PPS, so you really don't need their charger) due to the single cell battery limiting things which I'd call on the edge of acceptable. It's saved mostly because the battery is so much larger than the iPhone and so even with the mediocre efficiency it gets a few more hours from a full charge, so in theory this situation won't some up as often.
-Samsung's S26 Ultra gets about 8:21, which splits the two Xiaomi 17 Ultras and is right in the mix of the good results from other Chinese flagships, though of course it has a pretty small battery with fairly middling battery compared to them. To get that charging rate of course you've got to have 21V3A PPS, which is somewhat uncommon but if your workplace bought new universal chargers recently or they let you use your own multiport it'll probably have this mode.
-the OnePlus 15 gets an exceptional 10:10 on the special sauce charger or a still very good 8:46 on 55W PPS, so a standard multiport will still result in good enough charge rate and pairs well with what should be easily 2 days of battery life, sometimes even 3.
-even the previous gen 1 VI got about 4:42 because it did better in the battery test, which would be at least enough every other day charge with moderate use (but again you shouldn't have to be at this price point).

Same goes for Xiaomi 17U, as it gets similar battery life to Sony w/ its supposedly bigger 6,400mAh battery.

In real life that sensor was way too small and the optics too poor quality for it to make any difference. Any of the other actual Ultra flagships beat it in those 10x magnifications using their larger sensor telephoto, ESPECIALLY in low light.

THANK GOD they finally got rid of that godawful gimmicky zoom telephoto that had borderline worse quality than crops from some of other flagships main camera. It was dreadful and pointless. Cropping from a big sensor telephoto is much better solution here.
