Anonymous, 19 Jul 2026Dude, have you even seen the amount of phones using snapdragon 8s series compared to dimensity... moreIn Gsmarena database there were 8 phones with Dimensity 8400 and 11 phones with 8s gen 4, I wouldn't call that dominating, also we have data for soc marketshare at same price point for some time now, Mediatek has like 11% share in premium phones, last time I saw around 2025. Usual Mediatek dominate low price phones and their marketshare drop the higher you go.

The reason Mediatek has that marketshare is their deal with Samsung, look what soc Samsung use then those soc are one which are dominating.

200-350$ phones also on 4nm and pretty good antutu

I didn't expect less from the internet.

Anonymous, 12 May 2026Wouldn't it then require a comparison to something equivalent on the other side? Both 8s gen 4 and D8400/8500 have similar perfomance tier, but 8s gen 4 edge D8xxx series by having X core. That's why in benchmarks you see 8s gen 4 having advantage in single core perfomance. It also offer better GPU.

So it's not true that Qualcomm concede upper midrange market to Mediatek and it's weird statement to make if you follow tech news.
