I was wanting to buy the A57 but after they revealed a price increase of almost 50% more, but most features remaining the same as A56 - I then realised that it's not possible for me to compensate their greed with my hard earned money.

[deleted post]In case you haven't heard, s26 series has outsold s25 series by more than 20% in the third 90 days.
The S Ultra every year is listed among top10 sold phones worldwide. Phone that nowhere is less than $1000. More than 10 million units yearly.

By the way, because of storage/ram price is up, the chinese brands are strongly considering not making Ultra phones anymore after current gen.

Benjamin Mileykovski, 24 Apr 2026People buy devices, not company revenue or statsWow, I am horrified ppl read and can't understand.
Zero surprise when even many nations from called " 3rd world" have better schools than USA. Anyway ...

Samsung phone business alone is bigger than entire Xiaomi.
They would need to lose dozens of billions for more than decade to leave phone market.
Much easier to see chinese brands quit.

          How hard to understand that?

[deleted post]How is that causing a loss? Basically you're saying selling phones for a higher profit margin is causing the loss. It is increasing costs that are threatening their profit margins . It's hitting all brands which is why you are seeing the prices of OPPO, Vivo,Honor and Xiaomi phones increasing. In the case of OPPO and Vivo the price increase is large. Xiaomi has managed a smaller increase. Only Huawei has basically not increased prices. The net profit margin for all these brands won't be very high and there is a large increase in the cost of production due to the huge memory prices. Add that to a drop in sales due to higher and it's going to hurt profits. It's amazing Apple has maintained prices in most markets so far. It's no wonder they are selling so well in China with the increase in prices from all Android flagships. Wouldn't be surprised to see them announce a price increase for the 17 series at some point though if they haven't negotiated their memory prices in advance with forward contracts

how are they facing losses with 80% recycled materials? that's just poor management at this point

anyways who cares if the mobile division suffers if their memory division more than makes up for it lol they're just paying each other and all the money stays in samsung's pockets still.

just excuses to hike prices to get even more profits, due to problems made by themselves. Make problems for yourselves and make the consumer suffer. Who doesn't love corporations?

                            Gonna get worse

                            Combo 8Eg6 + 16gb ddr6 + 1TB ufs5.0 may be over $600.
This is already more than entire hardware of 512gb S26.
Samsung oled screens are at least $70.

BoMnof S27 Ultra can easily be $750-800.

The days of producing low end phones with their ancient hardware like S20.6 Ultra and selling them as a 1400€ flagship is over.

Samsung Mobile will soon go bankrupt🤩.
