You know what is good Design Change? From 10 vi to 10 vii. Still omnibalance design and when you put phone on table ist not dancing anymore. And what excite me that if it comes with min 1/2.5 inc telephoto Sensor and imx908 main sensor . Then I can directly buy it. Because Sony is still behind the competition in HDR. Also it should be reachable. Even in Germany there is only few channels that you can reach the 1 vii. They should work with operators and show more devices on tech markets. Even in Germany no one realizing Sony is still in market.

I now use RedMagic devices, they have the same form factor with rectangular edges and circular lock buttons like the Xperia Z series of the past.. Kinda feels at home..

One of the mayor reasons I like their phon... moreFeel free to come join us anytime, the OS over here has a couple issues and you don't get get an SD card slot (you also have to choose between good cameras and a 3.5mm port) but you'd be saving a lot of money which there's nothing wrong with doing.

4 k screen, micro sd and 3.5 jack support, 12+ ram, latest chipset(snapdragon or dimensity, never matters), usb 3.2 gen 2, update support for 4 5 years, no any kind of notch/punch hole... even it hasn't one of those, it's over, go buy oppo vivo etc. (even infinix)

No screen cracks, no damage to the battery or anything, a few little marks (no case).
It's not a fragile phone,it's like most top end phones tbh... Manufacturing luck.

I love sony phones but I can't knowingly buy such a fragile and expensive phone again

here, i'll help you a bit
Apple sold an estimated 247 million iPhones in 2025;
Samsung is 2nd with their approximately 241.2 million smartphones in 2025;
these two combined are making approximately a 50% global market share in 2025.
add that to those millions upon millions of Chinese phones with their proprietary chargers and cables in a box and you have a house full of chargers that you don't use and one day you will have to dump them somewhere.

User935, 03 Apr 2026Unreliable after 2 years is definitely impressive in a bad way. ๐ My Xperia is still fine and ... moreThat's true, but in my case being able to get 30% back into it in about 10 minutes while in the shower has pretty much the same effect most of the time, so in my case I only bother to charge it overnight if it's under 20% when I go to bed. My Redmagic is showing something like 39 cycles in the settings menu since November because of it.

It's purely a cash grab, claiming they care about the environment is an easy grift (keep in mind I have multiports because 99% of devices they're good enough, so I don't even want the inbox charger because I'll never use it even once).

User935, 03 Apr 2026As I said, my experience is quite the opposite. ๐ The in-display one is fiddly, and as you say... moreI don't know if dry hands is part of your problem as somebody who has medically diagnosed eczema and uses creams for it daily, but then again I also have the weird sounding combination of eczema and sweaty fingers. I did often have more issues with the ZF10 just after using the cream, which again never happened even once with this Redmagic. Best thing I can suggest for getting the S23 to behave is try just resting your finger on it like you already do for the capacitive Sony one, there's no need to press hard like on the first gen Huawei / OnePlus 6t ones or those ancient red light based thumb readers that universally sucked. As I said maybe Samsung's one is just bad.
At the end of the day if side mounted works best for you side mounted works best for you, more options in a market increasingly having less is a good thing, it's just something I don't particularly need.

BUT! If you look at ... moreNah, Sony's software is so much superior that I'd never buy a Samsung with my money for that alone even if Sony didn't have many more and better hardware features.
My work S23 I mentioned earlier is slower and stutters all around with basically only Outlook and Teams installed, constantly annoys with updates and AI BS, whereas my private 2 years older Xperia 1 III on Android 13 simply always works beautifully despite obviously being used much more and having much more installed stuff, a higher screen resolution etc. The wife's 5 IV is also worlds apart from the S23.
I honestly can't explain how does Samsung manage to produce so much worse a phone with similar and even superior hardware specs as far as the chipset goes.
