I am a solid you tube only for three years after giving up cable. Being 92 years old and going full blast internet found programming into easy and calming with I needed. I have noticed the new advertising to be annoying in length of time and too many. Maybe ease back even a little bit. Thank you

There is also new feature by YouTube to have volume on 50% and you can't raise it to 100% for what ever reason. So i need to boost the volume with extensions or i need to turn up my volume trough system. I have my headphones on like 10% but when i rise that then it will be annoying to turn it down in other places i listen sound

As for my TV, I use SmartTube lately.
The sheer amount of repetitive ads Google blasts me with makes any video unwatchable, so I make the effort and don't regret it for one moment.
Google has inserted itself and its ads into every crack in my life. It reads our emails, watches TV with us, goes through our calendars, and everything in between as it is.
SmartTube is a game changer.

YouTube is a mess of ads now and I absolutely hate having to tilt the phone for full screen and then having to remove another and banner on the screen. Absolutely unnecessary.

There should be some kind of Google credit system where you get certain services like skipping ads dependent on how much of your personal information Google has sold. Seems fair to me.

xek, 11 Mar 2026A Pi-Hole setup won't work for disabling ads on YouTube. Installing SmartTube directly... moreOn my android tv box i have Brauser that also blocks the ads. If it stops working then i take that SmartTube. I only have it for the sake to watch universe 24/7 or something like that to get me to sleep. My TV app in there is dumb that goes to sleep every after 3 hours as they think they save energy or something that you need to touch remote controller so the timer resets. That actually makes me stop watching the TV channels
