WhoCaresTM, 08 Feb 2026Honestly, being owner of both an S25 Edge and S25 Ultra, I can tell you it bums me out Samsung... moreExactly my feeling, using the S25 Edge is such a pleasure. Still hoping for S26 Edge in june, but don't see the need to change my S25 Edge.

Honestly, being owner of both an S25 Edge and S25 Ultra, I can tell you it bums me out Samsung are not making the S26 Edge.
For all the cons the phone has it's infinitely more comfortable to use, carry, pocket and in general own. I'm definitely moving to something lighter in the future.

Presuming a case, Samsung engineers are savvy to drop weight and space for a redundant magnet ring.

I was looking to upgrade if the 26 ultra came with built-in magnets. Guess I'm holding onto this phone another wee while

NeustadtHbf, 08 Feb 2026Does the Pixel 10 series situation where they had to removed Reverse Wireless Charging feature... moreAccording to what I read on another website, the magnets were going to interfere with the stylus signal. For this reason, they might remove the stylus from the S27 Ultra and include the magnets in this series; only time will tell. Meanwhile, the price of the S25 Ultra will drop even further in a few weeks, and you'll be able to buy an S25 Ultra for less.

Does the Pixel 10 series situation where they had to removed Reverse Wireless Charging feature that have been a mainstay since Pixel 5 or 6 due to magnets that may interfere reverse wireless charging capability that made Samsung used the hard/softcase alternative instead integrating like HMD Skyline or Pixel 10? I mean, Samsung had the reverse wireless charging even longer, since the S10 series and they have been the protectorate of wireless charging since S6 series

My phone has wireless charging, but I've only used it no more than three times in the past two years.Personally, I don't need wireless charging.

I never use wireless charging since its pointless and overhyped. The only time it makes sense to me is when its a powerbank which is truly wireless after being charged. The moment something needs to be plugged in its pointless, it takes literally 3 seconds to plug in a cable.

Most people use a case anyway so I'm not sure if it makes sense to put magnets in every phone when the only ones really using them are the 5% or so that don't use a case. I feel like Apple will at some point remove the magnets from the phones to save weight and cost (like 3D touch) but still include them in their cases and certified MagSafe compatible cases or however they will handle it. What's annoying on iPhones without MagSafe is that power banks that work over MagSafe don't work on iPhones that only have magnets in an aftermarket case, which is why I feel like Apple will have a MagSafe certification program in the future (like Made for iPhone Lightning cables before) that makes the power banks recognize the MagSafe compatibility.

Not really a big deal, most people use a case any way so get a magnetic one and it's job done!

Well, Google had to remove reverse wireless charging after adding the magnets, so maybe they have priorities.

20W and 25W wireless charging are still only midrange level features, but at least they are trying.

Wasn't the deal that the magnets would interfere with the SPen given they were incorporated in the phone?

Hey, an upgrade is an upgrade... even if it's just 5W more than the previous generation I guess...

Also there are barely any cases out there that don't have the magsafe incorporated in them... their incorporation in the phone seems like a gimmick - especially when you need a case with a magnet on it anyway, as the ones incorporated in the phone get too weak to use true a magnet-less case if it isn't near paper thin

🤣🤣🤣 first time I used 'wireless' charging, years ago, I thought the charger had a battery inside which could be charged/discharged, only to discover it would only work on mains .... Never used it again. Literally the most pointless invention which exists just to charge users more.
