The rest... moreGeekbench is better for checking performance of the smartphone's SoC, in my opinion. It's more comparable between smartphones compared to Antutu's scores which are erratic but Antutu covers more areas in phone than Geekbench like SSD speed and UX and whatever else I don't know.

The rest are just giving core or multi core and that is very similar scores with all the chips.

MediaTek fumbled with D8500. It's such an Incremental update. It's still on TSMC's N4P node. It still has Cortex-A725 CPU cores and uses Mali-G720 GPU again.
Should've used Mali-G725 GPU with 8-cores which is still part of ARMv9.2-A architecture. The 3x Cortex-A725 middle cores clocked at 3.2 GHz in D8500, they should've left it at 3 GHz but rest of the cores' clock speed should stay the same in D8500.
Finally, they should've manufactured D8500 on TSMC's N3E node so the improvements might've been a bit better on performance and power side because Dimensity 8000 series was stuck on 4nm node for three generations already from D8200 to D8400. So, it's overdue, in my opinion.
D8500 should've included WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 too…

It was Dimensity 7200.
It's probably a choice to provide 4A78+4A55 instead of 2A715+6A510...it allows the cheaper price OEM are looking for...Mediatek sold more 7300/7400 than 7200/7350

These are just core names for me and nothing more. Still are around same clock speed and still give around same performance score in Antutu v10 benchmark
In the end of the day if it works then don't fix it. Having just new generation core names makes no difference when the result is not massively improved

At least with MTK we can still understand like their Helio G series is bottom budget to Dimensity 600/6000 being with 5G bottom budget and with 7x00 is more of the middle class start and then 8x00 is middle class top end and then flagship is 9x00
When SD have 4 series that time to time pop up and virtually not end up in any device to be budget low end then 6 series should be now the bottom to higher end of the budget class chip but then SD 6 Gen 4 is basically same like ST 7s series that is middle class while all the SD 7 series is around antutu 700-800k range while the SD 7+ is like from 1.1M to 1.5M antutu v10 score range and then the SD 8s is also around there
Like SD dont even have budget range anymore when all is in the middle to high end middle range or budget flagship range.
I am looking the chips by Antutu score based as i dont really understand the point of core names what is better and so on where there are like 12 plus cores now on a chip as it's all so confusing to me

All these people are probably just tech enthusiast, where the possibillities have flagship phone is smalk, including me, but i just grateful use dimensity 6300 or 6000 series, i also have a job, and i not a kid who want to gamr all day long, so 6000 series is already enough for me, atleast its better than snapdragon 685 and unisoc phone, even on the same price range.
One fact that i know after i working is you have a money, but your play time is not as much like you were kid back in the day, so buy midrange is better than flagship, because you will never use it 100% max functionality anyway

I tentatively say it doesn't matter for now, when the FULL specs are known then all will be revealed..
What appears to have happened is Mediatek like Qualcomm (but Qualcomm doesn't like Mediatek 😱) but seriously have gone into a mini rationalisation rename
NO 9500e and If I am correct there will be NO 9500+ either, as Mediatek 'differing' released their FLAGSHIP followed by FLAGSHIP+****
The 9500S (Superior/ Standard etc) and not SUB as Qualcomm perceived the "S" in S range stand for
The 9600 [2nm] 9700 etc will be the true FLAGSHIP comparable to the Elite range, so a "reverse" of Qualcomm which uses 'Elite' Mediatek just numerics
****So with that explained the 9500S (specs unknown) is the 2nd tier SoC competing directly with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. Reason TIMING of release also manufacturers usually release one flagship phone per year, the 9*00+ may not be the official flagship but Mediatek have 'two' or did have.
The 8500 is the next iteration after the 8400. Fin
