Looks very interesting. Soon will a phone CPU and GPU handle even a PC games like Doom Dark Ages hahaha. Or Borderlands 4 or GTA VI, Assassins creed Shadows etc.
Nice upgrade for mobile gamers, especially considering that this chip will also have better support for emulation. I'd be more interested in general efficiency though; if Dimensity 9500 phones can record 4k 60fps for 30 minutes without getting too hot or dropping quality/frame rates then I'm all in...

I truly dont care about the GPU, the Dimensity 9400's GPU is the best mobile phone GPU rn and we dont really need anything more, what we DO need is better CPU and more importantly better ISP efficiency.
Samsung and Apple can record videos at a low cost to battery compared to others, especially Apple, the video recording efficiency is ludicrous. If there were a way for Android SoCs to replicate that, it'd be immense for people.
And most tasks are still CPU bound and utilize the CPU more so CPU efficiency is a MUST for better performance, heat management AND battery life.
Finally mediateck is catching up 🥳

and like, real android games in general just revert to lower than native render res so it's not like resolution matters all that much when all phones have similar rendering resolution in games if played on similar settings

Definitely not native,... moreMobile gaming is one of the few places where upscaling+frame gen is way more efficient than native rendering. Phone displays, while high resolution, are so small that any hit to image quality that might be incurred by upscaling is imperceptible and you end up with lower GPU usage while looking better than just reducing the resolution scale. Lower GPU usage means lower temps and lower temps means higher sustained performance, which is ideal for anyone playing a mobile game for an extended period of time. Frame generation also serves the same purpose but the majority of phones are only powerful enough to do a less technically demanding version of frame gen a-la AMD'S AFMF. Either way, neither of these technologies have shown up in many Android games outside of a handful of China exclusive ones so 99% of people will never have access to them.
Which Android games have ray-tracing? Also, 100 fps at what resolution? Definitely not native, because even high-end PCs can't manage to get that sort of fps with ray-tracing enabled at native high resolutions. Even the RTX 4090(which was the most powerful consumer GPU in the world at the time) couldn't even achieve 60 fps in Cyberpunk at native 4K with Ultra settings with ray-tracing enabled. Enable path-tracing, and the GPU literally starts crawling.
They have to use some form of upscaling or frame-gen to get anything even close. Basically fake frames. What's the use of that?

LOL here we go again with these claims "100 fps here 100 fps there ray tracing blabla" okay all good and stuff but tell me what are the REAL GAME FPS? Because so far quite literally ALL android chips have failed miserably to even get close to what A- chips in iPhones do. Both in raw FPS, Power use, stability, visuals, graphics etc iPhone simply smashes whatever android has.
Raytracing ... okay what game does have raytracing on android? I know iOS has a bunch, yet on android side that setting is locked despite the claims "But MuH GPU betta than A- GPU"
I can't wait for the tests to show once again how iPhones wipe the floor with ALL of these "new" android chips.

- still extremely blurry and bad visuals
- still lag
- still getting WAYYY too warm
5 generatons and all of them still struggling to maintain 40 fps on the most popular games the platform offers... while Apple rolls 120fps and doesn't even budge....
Don't believe me? That's okay wait for the youtube tests!
Efficiency is really the only thing that matters here. I've never ever seen any mobile games besides War Thunder come with RT support (it only supports RT shadows) and the rest with RT support are pretty much limited to China. It might demonstrate how powerful the chip is in RT-based benchmarks but that's it.
