Cool. Let's normalize having telephoto on mid-rangers. It's ridiculous that in 2025, OEMs are still putting stupid 2/5MP useless macro/depth sensor on mid-rangers just to have "three" cameras. Even a 2x telephoto is useful to have good looking portraits.

This CMF is competing with A36.
A lot of people who will be buying this consider it a "secondary phone".
So they don't need cameras, don't need OIS, don't need telephoto, don't need ultrawide or even water proofing. Bezels don't have to be thin, they just have to be symmetrically uniform. (Pixel 9a bezels are a good example)
They need: NFC, stereo speakers, headphone jack, microSD, removable battery, big battery, good looks, & very-affordable price. (msrp of $200 max)
People will buy it to:
- Stream cloud games with a mobile controller (Wifi 6 is good for streaming/casting)
- Retro game emulation handheld (PS2/Dolphin emulation)
- Using it as a mobile hotspot (to save battery life on their other devices)
- Reverse charging other devices
- Playing videos/podcasts in the kitchen
- Handing it to kids
- Connecting it to an AUX cable to play music in the car
- An Android Auto screen
- Connecting it to a projector/TV via USB-C
- Using it as a microSD reader to access terabytes of data
Focus on making it a glorified power bank, stop trying to turn it into a phone. 🙄
