Motorola Moto Pad 70 Groove arrives with a 12.1" display, a 9-unit JBL Pro Speaker System, and a 10,200 mAh battery

Motorola introduced the Moto Pad 70 Pro last month, and today, it unveiled the Moto Pad 70 Groove, advertised as the "ultimate entertainment tablet designed for consumers who demand immersive entertainment, cinematic sound, premium design, and limitless versatility."

Motorola tries to deliver all of that with a 12.1" 120Hz LCD of 2,560x1,600-pixel resolution having an 800 nits peak brightness, 98% DCI-P3 color gamut, and support for Dolby Vision and HDR10.

The Moto Pad 70 Groove features a 9-unit JBL Pro Speaker System on its back, including four tweeters, three woofers, and two passive radiators. It also supports Dolby Atmos with pre-tuned Dynamic, Movie, and Music modes, in addition to a dedicated Bluetooth Speaker Mode that lets you stream music from your phone and turn the Moto Pad 70 Groove into a Bluetooth speaker.

Furthermore, the Moto Pad 70 Groove features a 360° metal kickstand on its back, allowing you to keep it standing, lay it down, tilt it, or hang it. It also helps when you are using the tablet in one of the four viewing modes - Lean Mode, Theatre Mode, Stand Mode, and Hanging Mode.

The back of the Moto Pad 70 Groove also features a power button and volume controls, as well as the 13MP primary camera. The selfie camera on the front uses an 8MP sensor.

Under the hood, the Motorola Moto Pad 70 Groove has the Dimensity 7400 SoC with 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage, expandable by up to 2TB via a microSD card. The tablet runs Android 16 out of the box and is guaranteed to receive OS upgrades up to Android 18 and security updates for four years.

Since Android 17 is already out, Motorola should've launched the Moto Pad 70 Groove with Android 17 instead of Android 16, so users would have received OS upgrades up to Android 19 instead of Android 18. You could've done better here, Motorola.

Anyway. Moving on, the Moto Pad 70 Groove packs a 10,200 mAh battery, advertised to offer up to 15 hours of YouTube streaming on a single charge. The tablet comes bundled with a 68W power adapter, but supports only 45W charging.

Other highlights of the Motorola Moto Pad 70 Groove include dual microphones, an IP52 rating, and a USB-C port. The tablet doesn't support LTE connection, so you'll have to rely on Wi-Fi for internet access.

The Motorola Moto Pad 70 Groove, having a metal body, weighs 775g. It's 6.8mm thick (22.7mm including the speaker bump) and comes in a single Pantone Blue Surf color.

The Moto Pad 70 Groove is priced at INR36,999 and will go on sale in India starting August 7 via Motorola's Indian website, Flipkart, and retail stores across the country.
