Apple won't be able to meet demand in Q3

Apple Other

During his last call with investors before stepping down, Apple CEO Tim Cook laid out that the upcoming September quarter (Q3) will have huge customer demand that the supply chain won't be able to meet.

Cook stressed that it isn't a case of RAM constraints or lack of parts, but that, put simply, customer demand for iPhones, iPads, and Macs is too great, and supply partners can't keep up. He said, "this isn't a partner or supplier issue. The issue is an incredibly strong demand."

Huge demand for Apple devices will outpace supply in Q3

That means that the supply chain is capable of completing Apple orders at the usual scale, but that the scale will increase. It's not a bad problem to have.

It remains to be seen whether the supply chain can catch up in Q4, or whether demand would outpace supply heading into early 2027.
