“Andrew took over the country manager role at short notice and thrived in this wide ranging Tanzanian environment. He was popular with the volunteers he had under his wing and successfully managed the many ongoing links with the local partners. MondoChallenge flourished during this period and so did the Mondo Foundation charity. Energy, charm and good humour were always present, along with excellent organisation and tight financial management. He left an excellent legacy for his successors.”

The Beano Scottish Schools special edition
DCT worked with Scottish Business in the Community to create a unique edition of The Beano, which was distributed to every Primary School child in Scotland. This involved taking key social messages on employability, the environment and basic finance, incorporating them in to comic strips featuring DCT's famous characters, Dennis the Menace, Gnasher, Minnie the Minx, Bash Street Kids etc.

This involved taking key social messages on employability, the environment and basic finance, incorporating them in to comic strips featuring DCT's famous characters, Dennis the Menace, Gnasher, Minnie the Minx, Bash Street Kids etc.
Scottish Business in the Community secured support from Education Scotland and we achieved an endorsement from the Education Minister for the project, which was communicated in a pack sent to every Primary headteacher in Scotland. The project secured a significant amount of media coverage when it was launched in August 2012.
DCT and SBC worked closely to align all of the messages and resulting comic strip & feature content to the Curriculum for Excellence in Scottish Schools. This provided teachers with a resource to show how the issues explored in the special edition related to the curriculum and could help with lesson planning.
From a commercial perspective, we included a simple coupon for a further discount on purchase of The Beano within Coop stores in Scotland as well as a unique and acquisition-targeted subscription offers. Around 400,000 copies were eventually distributed with a significant Beano sales uplift within the Coop estate in Scotland as a result.Other creatorsSee project
