Nepal’s disaster agency sharply raised the number of missing on its side to 1,924.
Chinese officials did not release an updated figure for Tibet on Friday. On Thursday, they had reported 558 people missing.
That puts the combined number of missing at at least 2,482, more than 1,000 higher than a day earlier.
The figures are expected to keep changing as rescue and recovery operations continue.
