In the image sensor market
Number"1"Company!!

Image sensors of Sony Semiconductor Solutions Group are used in various fields around the world such as smartphones, digital cameras, automobiles, and security cameras. Currently, the world's share (money amount) is 53%*1, which is the world's No. 1*1. We plan to increase this to 60%. Furthermore, we are working to develop more attractive products including sensing applications, which are beginning to be used in various fields.

Currently, the image sensor market is expanding. Especially in the mobile imaging field such as smartphones, which is the driving force, growth is expected in the future due to the "multiple lens" that mounts multiple cameras on one unit and the "large format" that increases the size of the installed image sensor. In addition, the mobile sensing market is expected to expand in the medium to long term. The overall camera market is expected to remain flat, but high value-added markets such as full-frame interchangeable lens cameras are expected to grow. Furthermore, with the advances in AI and IoT, the market also continues to grow steadily in sensing field such as mobility applications, factory automation, and security. The image sensors will continue to increase their importance in society and industry.

We will keep growing as a leading company of image sensors, with the background of overwhelming technological capabilities throughout development, design and production.
*1) Sony research

Top share in the market worldwide (Revenue basis)

It shows that the global market share (Sales) for imaging applications is about 53%.

Worldwide Image Sensor's Shipment Trends (Revenue basis)

From 2011 to 2025, the sales of global image sensor shipments shows the trend of AV shrinking and mobile and new field expanding.

2

From research and development to manufacturing and sales
"1"stop in the group!!

One of our strengths is that we can complete from research and development to manufacturing and sales in the group, centered on Sony Semiconductor Solutions, which is responsible for head office functions, R & D, product planning and design, and Sony Semiconductor Manufacturing, which is responsible for process development and production. The one-stop system that unites the group creates benefits such as rapid and flexible product development, manufacturing and quality improvement, and efficiency and stabilization of mass production.

In addition, companies with various technologies such as Sony Depthsensing Solutions in Belgium, which develops ToF image sensors, and Sony Semiconductor Israel in Israel, which is responsible for development for LTE communication modem chips and AI solutions, are gathered in the group. By combining the technologies and knowledge of the entire group, we have created a lot of cutting-edge products and created new value for society.
