HiSilicon Kirin 9030 Pro

The HiSilicon Kirin 9030 Pro is an ARM-based SoC with 9 cores and 14 threads in 3 clusters, released in 2026. A fast Taishan V124 Prime core (L-core) clocks at up to 2.75 GHz, features 1 MB of L2 cache, and supports SMT (2 threads). Four Taishan V124 mid-cores (M-cores) run at up to 2.27 GHz and support SMT (8 threads). Together with the L-core, the mid-cores have access to 12 MB of L3 cache. The four small, power-efficient Taishan V124 cores (Tiny-Cores) do not support SMT (4 threads), run at up to 1.72 GHz, and share 4 MB of L2 cache. The entire chip, including the GPU, can access 12 MB of SLC (System-Level Cache). The CPU supports the ARMv8 instruction set. Compared to the non-Pro variant, the Pro model apparently offers one additional mid-core.
The SoC also integrates Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 7. The integrated memory controller offers 4 x 16-bit and supports up to LPDDR5X-9600. The built-in Ascend NPU features 3 vector units and 4 tensor units, 1 MB of cache, and can deliver up to 29 TOPS INT8.
Performance
The performance of the Huawei Mate X7 isn’t entirely convincing in our tests. Despite the higher clock speeds and greater number of cores, the SoC cannot significantly outperform the older Kirin 9020. The foldable’s slim design could be limiting performance here.
The HiSilicon Maleoon 935, running at 692–933 MHz, serves as the iGPU.
The chip is likely manufactured using SMIC’s new N+3 node (5 nm).
