Tecno has officially joined the AI race with the introduction of its “AI Vision” at the IFA event in Berlin. In 2024, AI integration is more of a necessity than a choice, and Tecno isn’t about to be left behind.
AI Vision might sound like a pair of some futuristic glasses but nope, It’s a suite of AI-powered features designed to boost productivity, enhance creativity, and bring more practical value to Tecno’s ecosystem of smart devices – according to the company.
At the heart of AI Vision is the revamped Ella AI Assistant, that is touted to be “connected to Gemini”. Ella boasts smart Q&A functionality, allowing for conversational interactions with users. Tecno’s AI suite also features real-time translation, converting speech to text during phone calls or face-to-face interactions, which could prove useful in multilingual situations.
One of the more creative features is AI Writing, which summarizes text content, proofreads, rewrites in different styles, or even generates original content from scratch. Meanwhile, AI Search offers users the ability to instantly learn more about anything on their screen by simply circling the object or text. Despite its obvious resemblance to “Circle to Search,” Tecno hasn’t branded it that way.
Additional tools in Tecno’s AI arsenal include AI Artboard, which allows users to generate artistic masterpieces based on text prompts. The AI Erase tool removes unwanted people or objects from photos, and AI Portrait Beautification offers personalized image enhancements.
There’s also an AI Cutout feature for selecting and extracting parts of an image to create new designs or share them in chats. Rounding off the suite is AI Video Production, which helps with everything from scriptwriting to adding subtitles in post-production.
Tecno’s flagship devices like the Camon 30 Premier, Phantom V Fold, and V Flip will most likely be the first ones to receive the AI Vision via OS update in the coming weeks.
