Understandable: Do pupils understand the feedback? Do they understand what they need to do to improve? 2.     I’m obsessed with effective eLearning. But when I started, I didn't know how crucial user testing was. Learn from my journey. 11 essential steps to apply user testing for eLearning: 1. Define Clear Objectives Know what you want to achieve with user testing. Set specific goals to measure success. Without clear objectives, you can't track progress. 2. Identify Your Target Audience Understand who will use your eLearning content. Gather information about their needs and preferences. This helps tailor the user testing process. 3. Create Realistic Scenarios Develop scenarios that mimic real-life situations. Test users should face challenges similar to what they will encounter. Realistic scenarios provide valuable insights. 4. Select the Right Users Choose a diverse group of users for testing. Include users with different skill levels and backgrounds. Diverse feedback leads to comprehensive improvements. 5. Prepare Test Materials Ensure all necessary materials are ready for testing. This includes instructions, tasks, and any required resources. Well-prepared materials streamline the testing process. 6.     It's week thirty of 2% Better 💪 , the series where I highlight an operational improvement my team is implementing that's not world-changing but gives us a meaningful small efficiency gain. This week: using a "trap door" to gauge student interest in a new course you're considering building! 📓 Summary: We're regularly gauging student need and interest in courses for our customer education academy. One way we pressure test interest is by adding a fake course icon to our course catalog. Instead of linking to a course, it links to a form where folks can express interest. 🌀 Background: Building content is time-consuming and expensive. We want to ensure new content is wanted and needed by our users. In addition to user research and other metrics, we've recently started adding "trap door" course icons where folks can see a potential course we're considering building to inform our content strategy. When users click the course icon, thanks to a Skilljar code snippet, they're taken to a Google Form where we share a little context about the potential course and ask a few questions. What's more, they can sign up to be notified if we build the course! 📈 Impact: In addition to gathering leads for the potential course, we also get invaluable insight on the interest for said course _before_ we go through the effort of building it!
