  • 💡 What's New in Keysight Eggplant? 💡 It's been a busy quarter for the Eggplant team, and there's a lot to share! Some highlights: - Find by Description – a new AI-powered capability that lets you locate UI elements using plain English rather than image assets or accessibility trees. - Eggplant Studio brings Connect/Disconnect script support, a Find Text panel, Custom Snippets, and a dedicated settings panel. - DAI moves to HTTPS-only connections, gets native Xray Cloud integration, and introduces Spaces for role-based access control across test assets. - Eggplant Gateway now supports Microsoft's RD Gateway protocol with a modernized RDP implementation as the new default. - Eggplant Monitoring adds support for MCP server monitoring so you can track performance and availability. • AI testing has a platform problem. Natural language authoring, self-healing, and AI-assisted analysis all help. But they only help inside the boundary of what the platform can actually test. That matters in enterprise QA, where testing often spans packaged software, custom apps, desktop clients, APIs, virtualized environments, and workflows that do not behave nicely for browser-only automation. AI can improve test creation and maintenance. It cannot fix a platform that cannot reach the real workflow. #AITesting #TestAutomation #SoftwareTesting #QualityEngineering

  • Six weeks to six months. That's how long enterprise QA teams are waiting between buying an AI testing platform and being allowed to use it. The most common reason teams hadn't started using the AI they'd already paid for wasn't tooling immaturity. It was that internal security hadn't signed off. Three questions are driving those reviews: 1. Does the vendor train its models on our test data? Test cases describe how our applications behave and where they break. That's IP. 2. Where does our data go during inference? Third-party model provider? Out of region? Persisted after the call? 3. Can the AI run offline? For regulated industries, external inference is a non-starter. The teams clearing this in weeks rather than months do three specific things. - They bring security into the vendor evaluation, not after the contract is signed. - They write AI policies that distinguish between use cases. An AI that generates test cases from requirements is a different risk profile to one analysing production traffic, and a single blanket policy treats them as the same. - And they ask vendors the right questions upfront: data training, residency, offline deployment, DPA terms. Most vendors have clean answers. You just have to ask. If your 2026 plan includes AI-powered testing, the timeline isn't "when can we procure." It's "when can we procure, plus security approval." That second number is where most plans break. For QA leaders, this is a relationship problem with an internal team. Build it before you need it. #SoftwareTesting #TestAutomation #AITesting #QualityAssurance #EnterpriseAI #SDET

  • Forrester has quietly retired "continuous automation testing" as a research category. The replacement is autonomous testing platforms. The rename isn't cosmetic. Two numbers from the inaugural Wave explain why: 1. Customers on platforms in the Wave now automate 51–60% of their tests. Industry average is 20–25%. 2. AI layered on top of that baseline adds a further 21–30% uplift. If your 2026 QA budget doesn't reflect that the category has moved, you're writing a budget for a category that doesn't exist anymore. • AI increases software output. It does not automatically increase software confidence. Every stage of the development lifecycle is getting faster. Code generation, requirements, test creation, delivery pipelines. But faster output without stronger validation just means you're shipping more uncertainty at higher velocity. AI-generated code still carries duplicated logic, missed edge cases, security gaps, and architectural conflicts. AI-generated tests can inflate your suite without telling you whether critical business workflows actually work across real data, real roles, and real environments. The question isn't how many tests you can generate. It's whether your release decision is backed by evidence or by volume. Release confidence is a risk decision, not a counting exercise. This article covers what this shift means for QA leaders, what to measure, where AI-augmented testing helps, and where test volume creates a false sense of coverage. #SoftwareTesting #QALeadership #AITesting #TestAutomation #ReleaseConfidence
