Most supply chain teams don't have a visibility problem. They have a too many dashboards, none of them agree, problem. That's the gap a logistics control tower closes and we just put together a quick demo showing how it works on Databricks: live shipment + carrier + IoT data unified in one place, AI flagging at-risk loads before they slip, and a Genie interface so ops managers can ask "what's delayed and why?" in natural language. If you've ever had to chase an ETA across five systems, this one's worth 3 minutes. #supplychain #logisticsAI #databricks

Databricks Data and AI Summit is almost here. If you run industrial operations, there's one session to block your calendar for: The Manufacturing and Transportation Industry Forum on Wednesday, June 17th, 1:00 - 2:30 PM This is where the conversations get specific. Not "AI in industry." Real plants. Real fleets. Real decisions about predictive quality, asset reliability, and demand signals. Featuring speakers from TK Elevator, Xylem and Toyota Motor Corporation. In San Francisco + Virtual: https://lnkd.in/dgTb63-s See you there. #DataAISummit #Manufacturing #Transportation

We're live at AVEVA World in Milan this week - come find us at Booth B23. The future of industrial operations runs on OT + IT working as one system. A great example: SQM one of the world's leading specialty chemicals and lithium producers, paired AVEVA PI System and CONNECT with Databricks via Delta Sharing and turned years of fragmented plant data into a closed-loop, AI-driven operating model. The results speak for themselves: ↗ +1% nitrate yield ↗ 1–3% better raw material efficiency ↗ 10–15% less process variability ↗ ~90% accurate predictive models ↗ Time-to-insight: days → minutes If you're at AVEVA World May 19–21, swing by Booth B24 to talk through how we're helping industrial leaders converge OT and IT on a single data + AI foundation. How does one of the UK’s largest energy providers ingest more than 10 trillion rows of data each year? Octopus Energy unifies data from eight countries and multiple business lines in the Databricks Platform. They can join data, design, build and innovate in ways that aren’t possible with siloed systems. The value goes beyond internal efficiency. The Databricks Platform supports Octopus Energy’s virtual power plant – made entirely of EVs. With a capacity of 1.8 gigawatts, it’s the largest of its kind in the world. With deep insights from our data and AI platform, they can dispatch energy when it’s cheapest for customers, better for the grid and better for the world.

The most expensive defect is the one you find at the end of the line. A new piece on what comes after defect detection. Detection tells you a part failed. Predictive quality tells you which conditions on the line are about to make the next part fail, while there is still time to do something about it. The shift sounds small. The math on scrap, rework, and warranty doesn't. For leaders looking hard at quality programs this year, this one's worth a read.
