Huge congrats to CDL-Seattle alum BioCurie ('24/25) to receive up to $9.3M from Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) to build an AI platform for scalable gene therapy manufacturing. Gene therapies can be transformative, but manufacturing remains one of the biggest bottlenecks to getting them to patients. BioCurie is tackling that head-on with an AI-driven platform that replaces trial-and-error process development with intelligent computational modeling and simulation. The project brings together an incredible consortium including Caring Cross, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and Center for Breakthrough Medicines. Rainfall Health was part of our 2021/22 CDL-Seattle cohort and watching their journey from early-stage to this milestone has been inspiring. The opportunity they're solving: CMS's new TEAM model (launched Jan 1, 2026) creates a massive compliance challenge for 742 hospitals nationwide. Rainfall Health built an AI platform that automates these complex requirements while unlocking up to $100M+ in new Medicare revenue per health system.
