Meet the panellists for Scale: A Panel on Investment Strategy. Sunday at Build48, we promised you'd learn how money actually works in startups. This is that session. The people who've done it, the program that's built for it, and a founder living it right now. Scott Stevenson — Co-Founder of Spellbook, a St. John's-built AI platform for lawyers valued at US$350M, backed by Khosla Ventures, and serving more customers across 80 countries than any comparable product in the world. Jeremy Andrews — Co-Founder of CoLab, a Y Combinator alum that raised a US$72M Series C (the largest VC round in Atlantic Canada in two years) and now counts Ford, Lockheed Martin, and GE Appliances as customers. Bronwyn Woolfrey — Venture Manager at Creative Destruction Lab, the global program connecting early-stage founders with expert entrepreneurs, angel investors, and VCs. Rohith Mckim — Founder of OmaScan, winner of last week's Mel Woodward Cup, five months into building a health-tech startup already in beta across two provinces — and right now in the middle of his first angel raise. SAFEs. Rounds. Angels vs. VCs. What scale actually means. This is the room you want to be in. Only 13 spots left. Message us for a discount code and grab yours: https://lnkd.in/eNx2i5zy

At the Nova Scotia Health Innovation Hub, we accelerate innovative solutions that improve care for patients — but we didn’t expect to see one of those innovations make its way onto a major television drama. This Thursday, Ring Rescue Inc., a Nova Scotia–grown medical device company, will be featured on Season 2, Episode 10 of The Pitt. Born out of collaboration between Dalhousie University engineers and a frontline emergency physician at Dartmouth General Hospital, Ring Rescue is a powerful example of what happens when clinical insight meets engineering ingenuity. Their solution tackles a surprisingly common medical problem — ring entrapment. Today, Ring Rescue is used in more than 2,000 hospitals, EMS agencies, and fire-rescue teams across North America. Now, their innovation is stepping onto a global stage. We’re incredibly proud of the Ring Rescue team and thrilled to have played a role in their success. With the right support, local ideas can become global solutions. Read more: https://lnkd.in/dW-B9TqG (Photos courtesy of the Dartmouth General Hospital Foundation)
