  • One of the best parts of the Pecha Kucha in the Pub event we hosted with ArchiTech Network is being to hear how different teams approach the same challenges in completely different ways. 🤔 We spoke with Laura Binaburo from Pollard Thomas Edwards about her experience at the workshop, and how seeing newer Autodesk Forma workflows in action opened up new ways of thinking about the design process. One point that really stood out was the ability to move from early sustainability and site analysis into more detailed building exploration within the same connected workflow. 🤝 Always interesting to hear what resonates most once people get hands-on with the tools! • Learning new design tools doesn’t have to mean a steep learning curve. 🧑🏫 Forma Site Design is built to help architects and designers explore ideas faster in the pre-design and schematic design phases: from building site context to testing massing options and environmental performance in real time. The best way to learn? Start experimenting. 🧪 The sooner you begin exploring workflows, analyses, and design iterations, the faster you’ll discover what’s possible in schematic design. • One thing we kept hearing at Pecha Kucha in the Pub with ArchiTech Network last week was that teams want less fragmented workflows and more visibility earlier in the design process. 👀 We caught up with David Hillier, BIM Manager at Populous, after the workshop to talk about his first impressions of Autodesk Forma workflows, and one point really stood out: Bringing design exploration, analysis, and collaboration together in one connected workflow gives teams better visibility earlier, instead of working across disconnected silos. Check out this great conversation on where connected workflows are heading next ⬇️ Explore Forma Site Design: https://lnkd.in/dB4bE7Nq #AutodeskForma #FormaSiteDesign #AEC #Architecture #BIM #FormaSiteDesign

  • Good site decisions start with good context 🫣 Join Autodesk and Esri on May 27 to see how teams are bringing real-world GIS data directly into Forma Site Design to make faster, more informed decisions earlier in the design process. In this webinar, we’ll walk through how the ArcGIS for Autodesk Forma extension helps teams: • Bring GIS and design data into one connected workflow • Understand site conditions earlier • Reduce rework and improve coordination • Create clearer, more data-rich visualizations for stakeholders As projects get more complex, having spatial context from day one can make a huge difference. 📅 Wednesday, May 27 🕑 8 AM PT | 11 AM ET | 5 PM CEST Can’t make it live? • Design reviews hit different when everyone can actually see the vision 👀 This workflow shows how AI-powered visualizations in Autodesk Forma can help teams quickly explore different atmospheres, materials, and design directions directly from early-stage concepts. Instead of spending hours rebuilding visuals or waiting until later phases, teams can iterate, compare options, and communicate intent while ideas are still evolving. 💡 From massing models to mood, context, and materiality — all connected to the same workflow. We’ve also been hearing a lot about this shift in conversations at recent events: teams want faster iteration, clearer communication, and less disconnect between concept and delivery. • #NXTBLD and the BIM 2.0 panel discussion that Carl participated in reinforced an important shift happening across the industry: AEC won’t be shaped by isolated tools competing against each other, but by interoperable ecosystems and connected workflows that help teams move more seamlessly from concept through delivery. With Autodesk Forma, the focus is on enabling an open ecosystem where firms can connect workflows, and collaborate more effectively across teams, platforms, and project stages. Thanks to Snaptrude, Arcol, Hypar, Motif, and Qonic for the productive dialogue and thoughtful discussions on where the future of AEC is heading. #AutodeskForma #AECMagazine #NXTBLD #BIM

I spent the last two days at AEC Magazine’s NXT BLD/DEV event in London, where I had the opportunity to present on behalf of Autodesk for the second year in a row. In my keynote, Designing with Intelligence: From Intent to Impact, I shared Autodesk’s perspective that the future of BIM is not about replacing one tool with another — it’s about connected workflows, connected data, and AI-enabled systems that help teams make better decisions across the full project lifecycle. And yes — if you missed it — I also shared an update on how we see the relationship between Autodesk Forma and Revit evolving. Over time, more workflows will move into Forma as the industry shifts toward more connected, cloud-based ways of working, while Revit continues to evolve alongside that transition as a Forma Connected Client and a core part of how many teams work today. I also enjoyed speaking on the BIM 2.0 panel alongside Snaptrude (Altaf Ganihar), Arcol (Paul O'Carroll), Hypar (Ian Keough), Motif (Amar Hanspal), and Qonic (Aaron Perry). One theme that came up repeatedly was that the challenge for the industry is not simply building new AI tools, it’s creating workflows and systems that customers can realistically adopt, scale, and trust across increasingly complex projects. AEC remains incredibly deep, complex, and full of opportunity, and I left the event even more optimistic about how much innovation is still ahead of us. Thank you to Martyn Day and the AEC Magazine team for putting together such an energizing event and bringing together so many thoughtful conversations. • At NXT BLD 2026, Autodesk Forma is helping shift the conversation from AI hype to AI in real workflows In his keynote, Carl Christensen focused on what AI actually looks like in practice today, with tools already changing how teams design, evaluate, and make decisions. The future of AI in AEC isn’t about creating more options. It’s about creating options with judgment. Carl spoke about how AI should help teams understand trade-offs, respond to intent, and support better decisions throughout the project lifecycle. With Autodesk Assistant expanding across Autodesk products, agentic AI is becoming embedded directly into workflows - speeding up processes while staying grounded in industry context. Through Autodesk Forma, this comes to life across site design and building design workflows and into construction, powered by intent-based AI analysis and connected data. Instead of fragmented tools and disconnected files, teams can move through exploration, evaluation, and communication while keeping everything in context. A key message from the keynote: AI should not exist as a standalone feature. It should operate as a system value across the lifecycle of a living project. That means: → Connected workflows instead of disconnected files → Continuous context instead of fragmented data → AI that supports reasoning, not just generation #AutodeskForma #NXTBLD #AEC #AI #BIM #DesignTechnology #Autodesk
