You Made It

Every challenging moment you make it through, celebrate.

The celebration can be small, like an imaginary self high-five or it can be a grander gesture if you wish. Regardless of how you celebrate, you should celebrate.

I’ll give you an example.

You’re reading this piece. Perhaps you’re reading it on the day I published it, February 21, 2023. Once you’re done reading this post then you can celebrate that you devoted your undivided attention to it for a moment. That’s a win.

Focusing on things with your full attention is a win worth celebrating.

You could also celebrate that you made it through the holidays. Zoom out wider, you could celebrate that you made it through the month. Going even further, you can look at the fact that you made it through the last couple of years — years that have been some of the more challenging ones humanity has faced in some time.

Now that you’ve made it, what’s next? Don’t worry about that right now. Instead, celebrate the fact that you made it this far and revel in that.

Congratulations. You made it.
