Success is Here
It's important to set goals and to have a clear vision of where we want to go but if we're not mindful of where we are now and the gravity of each step we take in this moment we may miss a valuable opportunity. The ability to experience a sense of richness along the way even in the midst of the ups and downs. If we define success solely by the final outcome of those goals we overlook the appreciation and paramountcy of the process and the ability to find joy within that process as full and complete just as it is. To illustrate this, visualize a time lapse video camera pointed at the ground where a flower bulb was just planted. Then looking through the camera lens see the bare ground then a green stem of the bulb emerge from the soil like a reed reaching upward forming a bud then leaves with the bud opening into a fully bloomed flower. It is clear the flower bloomed is the successful outcome but if you were to take out just one frame of that time lapsed video and looked at it in real time what would you see? Not much, right? It would look like nothing was happening. The question to ponder here is if you took out that one frame could the flower have bloomed? Having goals are without a doubt necessary but to put the emphasis on each step we take within the process is the real sweet spot of success.
