How To Land More Interviews
How To Land More Interviews
I know, I know... trust me I preach Network, Network, Network. At the same time, I preach, “Not to close any opportunities and to think outside the box.”
People are so trained to parrot other people when they give guidance that they close themselves up to thinking outside the box.
Some people try their very best to Network, but aren’t very successful. It’s important to try your best to do everything you can to increase your chances of getting an interview. Everybody knows the sayin, “Control what you can control.”
- You can’t control whether or not people will reach out to you.
- You can’t control if people will actually refer you for a job.
- You can’t control if people even want to talk to you.
🔹 What you can control is your own actions - use all of the tools that are available to you.
The information I share, 95% is from my own personal experience. What worked and what didn’t work. The guidance I give will not work for all, but I am hoping it works for some.
🔸 Create a profile in job boards and upload your resume.
🔸 Some job boards allow you to upload multiple tailored resumes.
🔸 Creating a profile in job boards shows Recruiters and Sourcers that you are actively looking.
🔸 Ensure that you continuously update you profile in these job boards.
🔸 If it has been over 3 months, just go back in and update your profile.
🔸 Make sure to have a professional email and a good working phone number.
Having profiles in these job boards will increase your job interviews. Recruiters and Sourcers will reach out to you directly by phone or email.
Below are some job boards to utilize:
- Indeed
- Careerbuilder
- Dice
- Zip Recruiter
- Monster
- LinkedIn (no need to upload your resume because your profile is a reflection of your experience, but ensure to turn on the notification that you are currently looking)
There are plenty of job boards out there, these are just some of them.
Hope this helps.
