An Amazing Allstar Journey

An Amazing Allstar Journey

I joined AirAsia in late 2018 and was involve in the Digital Transformation project, and later on progress to what I didn't expect was the biggest project of my career to date and the most eventful journey I've had in my working career. I've not been in a "Tech" project that required so many interfaces with various authorities, departments and many teams who are not just local but remotely in locations and countries. I was blessed with an opportunity to manage and drive the solution-ing of this project with a small team of talented individuals that later grew to a bigger team, with that I thank the trust of the upper management and the support of my peers as without them the project would not have moved on.

I make my move today leaving AirAsia and there's a feeling of bittersweet as I walk down the offices and to the airport. I made many stops saying my goodbyes to the very few people who are supposed to be in and had some good catch up with those who I've not seen in ages. The pandemic has proven to me that upskilling and constant learning is something we should always practice, being consistent and persistence in self growth is very important. I wished we could recover from this whole situation quickly but even if we do, we should now have better planning for the unknown days to come and grow to be more agile and fluid in changes and learning. I've grown more than just a software engineer from back in the days and with my knowledge in electronics (from back in the days of high school and radio control helicopter), photography, digital marketing and social media it has all made contributions to execution, planning and problem solving when challenges arises. If it's one thing we should learn from these tough times is that our education does no determine our path but it's our own will that will lead us to a better future. I'd like to share some random highlights that I would always treasure with this organisation that has been led by an Amazing leader Tony Fernandes.
