We remember what makes us feel, not what we’re told to remember. Figma didn’t pitch me their new AI tool at their Paris pop-up. They made me laugh. The challenge? Design the WORST text field possible. Mine was chaos. Everyone’s was. And in that creative absurdity, I learned more about their product than any demo ever could. Neuroscience backs this up. We remember 10% of what we read, but up to 90% of what we emotionally experience. That dopamine hit from laughter? It’s your brain turning a moment into a memory. We obsess over specs, features, conversions. But when was the last time we designed for emotion? Figma didn’t show me features. They created a feeling. Every detail, from the coffee to the energy to the permission to fail hilariously, was engineered to make me feel something. And it worked. We don’t remember features.
