Design isn’t just about making things work—it’s about how they work, says Dylan Field, the co-founder & CEO of Figma. As AI transforms tech, he believes a designer's judgment, taste, and agency will matter more than ever. Dylan sat down with YC's Garry Tan to discuss the evolving world of design in the age of AI, the challenging early days at Figma, and how his team forever changed the way designers and engineers collaborate. ▶️ https://lnkd.in/gPXT9Re5

Making software will be like posting a image on instagram

Unless figma integrates AI assisted coding, companies like cursor will eventually replace it. A good product person can skip figma now just by talking to their models. I’m sympathetic, but ignoring the elephant in the room when mobile apps can be built in a day. Makes the need for figma worth less, you can prototype with code now.

The co-existence of AI and design is undeniably game-changing. Artificial Intelligence not only enhances productivity, but it also reshapes how designers and engineers collaborate. 🚀🎨 At qantum.one, we understand the crux of this as we pioneer in the arena of Bionic Testing, which blends human expertise with AI's strength for efficient QA testing. Software like Figma plays a key role in this collaboration as well. Fascinating conversation, looking forward to more of such insightful discussions. 👏 #AIinDesign #TechInnovation #Collaboration #BionicTesting #QaAutomation #qantumone

Great conversation between Dylan Field and Garry Tan on how AI is reshaping design! Totally agree—AI isn’t replacing design, it’s redefining it. The real challenge is finding the right balance between automation and creativity while reinforcing the strategic role of designers. At Orange, we’re diving deep into these questions, especially when it comes to generative AI and experience design. The key? Making sure technology enhances the human experience—not the other way around.
