A few late entries tonight, but first Florida proposing to utilize $291M (25%) of it's allocated BEAD funding to reach 102,591 eligible locations and CAIs. The technology mix is fiber (47%), LEO (25%), and HFC and LFW (both at 14%). For purposes of my awardee summaries, if a project is more than 80% one technology, then I assign it as the primary technology. Where no single technology reaches 80% of the project's locations, I assign the primary technology as "Mixed." #BEAD #RuralBroadband

Most states are now moving into the next phase of the BEAD Program, with new provisional awards announced under National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA)’s Benefit of the Bargain round. These updates mark continued momentum as broadband plans become construction, turning commitments into lasting infrastructure. At Crown Fiber Optics, we are focused on that next step, turning broadband investment into durable fiber infrastructure. From directional drilling and installation to splicing, testing, and restoration, we build the networks that connect communities. 🌊 Following a winter marked by intense storm activity, the SmartBay observatory was successfully redeployed, reaffirming its role in real-time ocean monitoring and marine research, and introducing new observational capabilities as part of ongoing technological advancements. 👉 In addition to the set of permanently deployed instruments, CTD, DO2, Fluorometer, ADCP, HDTV, hydrophone and the CytoSub and UVP6 installed last year, a second camera has now been mounted on a smaller, secondary observatory. 🧑💻 The data collected from SmartBay supports various EU projects, including Horizon Europe project ANERIS, which the Marine Institute participates in as an affiliate partner of EMSO ERIC. 🔍 Further details: https://lnkd.in/dNkMC35M Marine Institute SmartBay_ie ANERIS Project #SmartBay #GalwayBay #Ireland #MarineInstitute #EMSO #OceanData #OceanObservatory #ANERISProject

🔔✍🏻Publication alert✍🏻🔔 ✏️I am glad to announce our latest journal publication about the use of STAR-RIS for SWIPT systems in NOMA networks. 📝The paper, coauthored by me, Claudia Leoni and Yalçın Ata, presents a novel SWIPT protocol named Time Switching-Variable Mode Splitting, which allows to dynamically allocate STAR-RIS resources (i.e., time slot duration, and number of reflecting and transmitting elements) based on variable environment conditions. 💡 Energy harvesting and information transfer phases alternate to each other in downlink according to a variable time frame structure, while the energy harvested in downlink is exploited for data transfer in uplink. The elements of the #STAR-#RIS are then dynamically switched from transmission to reflection in different time slots based on the demand of the network, allowing the transmission and reflection users to be connected to the base station simultaneously. 📌For more details, you can find our paper in early access at https://lnkd.in/df2kjeFA #ieee #TCOM #research #reconfigurable #intelligent #surfaces #6g

Exciting Milestone at 英诺威电气 ! 🚀 We’re proud to announce the successful delivery of six iHFCT-54 High-Frequency Current Transformers to Redskye Technology Limited (UK), a trusted leader in power system testing and monitoring solutions. The advanced iHFCT-54 sensors are the silent guardians of this new era. Designed for high-precision partial discharge detection, they act as the stethoscope for the heart of our power infrastructure. With their non-intrusive, clamp-on design, they listen to the whispers of the grid, identifying potential issues before they become problems—all without ever asking for the lights to be turned off. This is innovation that works silently in the background to ensure life in the foreground carries on, uninterrupted. This collaboration highlights the growing global trust in Innovit Electric’s intelligent monitoring solutions. Together with partners like Redskye, we are advancing the safety, reliability, and efficiency of power systems worldwide. 🌍 #InnovitElectric #iHFCT #PowerSystems #SmartMonitoring #Innovation

In this video, Del Mar Oceanographic, LLC., in partnership with Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego, conducts the first sea trial of LiveWire, a new motor-generator system integrated with the Wire Walker™ profiling vehicle. LiveWire is capable of full-ocean-depth operation and generates electricity onboard to power low-consumption instruments. During the trial, the vehicle profiled to 25 meters, collecting temperature, salinity, and other oceanographic data every 10–15 minutes. LiveWire achieved an average of 3 watts of power generation, with peaks up to 6 watts depending on wave conditions, covering most of the Wire Walker’s energy needs even in this early prototype stage. 📹 Watch the full video here: https://hubs.la/Q03LW1pj0 #ocean #tech #maritime

5moOk so I have to do a little rant. I'm in central FL. This is the second time in two months that they're now digging our front yards up across our community to lay fiber. I spoke to the town about it to get an idea of why can't this be more coordinated and was told, there's two more providers coming so we'll have two more digs to work through because no one needs to coordinate timing and there's no permits or notifications needed here if they're digging behind the sidewalks and not in the right of way. Trust me, I want fiber as much as the next person, however, having my front lawn dug up 4 times is a little excessive. How can I properly decorate for Halloween? lol??? This is an important holiday here!
