How do we remain hopeful about the future and pass this hope on to the generations to follow? 🍀 We spoke with Lynda Gratton at the 2025 #Thinkers50 Awards Gala, after she was announced as the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award – about the lifetime of thought leadership that led to this recognition, and about the thinking to come. Reflecting upon her work and the importance of business and management thinking broadly, Lynda highlighted the many people who believe in making the world a better place and the energy this brings to the world. In her words, we can live great working lives by being thoughtful about who we are and what role work plays in our lives; by taking action in our current circumstances and making promises to our future selves. We often use acknowledgment and recognition interchangeably—but they’re not the same, and the difference matters more than we think. Recognition is the right‑now moment. It’s the applause, the shout‑out, the award. It celebrates a win, a result, a moment in time. And yes—it’s important. People deserve to be recognized for what they accomplish. Acknowledgment, however, is about long‑term value. It says: I see you. Not just for what you did today—but for who you are, how you show up, and the impact you consistently make. Recognition fuels motivation in the moment. Acknowledgment builds trust, loyalty, and belonging over time. When people feel acknowledged, they don’t just chase the next win—they stay engaged in the work, the mission, and the team. They feel valued beyond outcomes. The strongest cultures don’t choose one over the other. They recognize performance and acknowledge people. That’s how you move from short‑term gratification to lasting impact. 💬 How are you practicing acknowledgment—not just recognition—on your team? #Leadership #Culture #PeopleFirst #TalentAcquisition #EmployeeExperience #Acknowledgment #Recognition

Big goals have a way of expanding what we believe is possible. I love seeing Ashley Baptiste set a bold intention to connect 3.9 Billion women. Yes...you read that number correctly. You see...when women create spaces for each other, something powerful happens...ideas grow, confidence grows, and possibilities multiply. In my own work as a certified Meta Performance coach, I help women in male-dominated industries set goals that are far outside their comfort zones… sometimes WAY outside. Not just bigger targets, but bigger visions for who they can become. Then we shape the mindset and strategy required to actually get there. Because when women expand, they don’t just change their own lives. They lift other women with them, and together, we shape the world. #WomenSupportingWomen #WomenInLeadership #WomenInMaleDominatedFields #MetaPerformance #BigGoals #LeadershipDevelopment #WomenEmpoweringWomen #ExpandYourVision #RiseTogether #WomenWhoLead 💫

🚀 If your fleet’s leaders look the same year after year, you’re missing something bigger. “Real visibility” isn’t a title or just a spot on a panel, it’s meaningful access to opportunity and influence. That’s the core takeaway from the latest Shades of Fleet conversation featuring voices from The Black Fleet Network and industry leaders. Key truth: 👉 Being seen isn’t the same as being heard. 👉 Mentorship without advocacy won’t shift pipelines. 👉 Succession planning should be about people development, not roles. This is a practical leadership challenge for every fleet pro — from the shop floor to the C-suite. Strong public service depends on collaboration, listening, and trust. I want to recognize Quiana Tilghman for the outstanding work she is doing to strengthen partnerships that support access to vital records services for North Carolinians. Through thoughtful engagement and a deep commitment to understanding stakeholder needs, Quiana continues to help improve how our services are delivered during important and often time-sensitive life moments. As Carolina Siliceo Perez recently shared: “Quiana’s ability to listen with intention and understand cultural nuances allows our teams to build trust and mutual understanding when individuals are navigating vital records processes.” Feedback like this reflects the real impact of relationship-driven leadership. Translating partnership insight into meaningful operational improvements is essential to building responsive, effective public services. Thank you, Quiana, for the leadership you demonstrate every day — and thank you, Carolina, for your continued partnership. #WeAreNCPublicHealth #PublicService #LeadershipInAction #ServiceExcellence #CommunityPartnerships #CustomerExperience Kelly Kimple Ryan Jury Erin Fry Sosne Stacie Turpin Saunders Virginia Niehaus Emily Jonczyk, MPH Catherine Williamson-Hardy Tina Rodgers Chandrika Rao

In every organisation, there are people who quietly go above and beyond. They support others, volunteer their time, attend meetings, contribute ideas and help improve the environment for everyone around them. Yet too often, these contributions remain unseen. Recognition does not always have to be financial. Sometimes a simple acknowledgement, a thank you, or an opportunity to grow can make a meaningful difference. When people feel valued, they stay motivated to continue making a positive impact. Recognition should not be rare, it should be part of the culture. Have you ever seen someone doing great work behind the scenes without recognition? #Leadership #Recognition #WorkplaceCulture #Motivation #ProfessionalDevelopment

Most young professionals, and especially professionals of color, are holding two things at once and nobody talks about it. You want to show up as yourself. You also know that "yourself" gets edited depending on the room, the audience, the stakes. Code-switching just to be taken seriously is exhausting. And somewhere in all that adjusting, you lose track of what you actually bring to the table. Tracy Reneé Williams and I are leading a workshop at the NextGen Leadership Symposium on this exact tension. What does it look like to know your strengths, name your values, understand what makes you different, and bring all of that into a room without shrinking it to fit? And leveraging that magic to build better realtionships? Real conversation. (Cause would you expect anything less from us?) Real practice. Real feedback. A deep dive into personal brand that doesn't feel like a template. Saturday, March 7th. Paul Quinn College Paul Quinn College, Dallas. Hosted by Pastor Richie Butler and St. Luke Community UMC. If you're early in your career and figuring out how to be both strategic and honest about who you are, this one's for you. https://lnkd.in/gztmBG5y

"Your confidence should be built on the full record of your leadership. Not on the absence of recent criticism." - Davina Dandridge The woman who leads from her complete evidence file makes different decisions than the woman who leads from the quiet relief of not being criticized this week. One is operating from strategy. The other is managing risk she has already survived. The difference between them is not talent. It is the quality of the internal system doing the filing.
