Last week, I tested an AI sourcing tool that claimed it could find “top tech talent in seconds.” I uploaded a sample job — and in under 60 seconds, it delivered 25 profiles that actually matched the role. I was impressed... and a little scared. Then I realized — the tool could find candidates, but it couldn’t connect with them. That’s still our job as recruiters — to build trust, read between the lines, and understand what motivates people. AI might speed up the process, but empathy still wins the hire.
