At DEFINE Innovation Hub, ideas turn into real opportunities. The DEFINE accelerator continues to bring together ambitious startups, talented innovators, and future industry leaders. One of the companies participating in the 3rd batch was SelectAM, an innovative company working at the forefront of additive manufacturing and smart production solutions. Their journey within the DEFINE accelerator highlights how collaboration, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit can create meaningful growth opportunities. A particularly inspiring success story comes from Kush Patel, who completed an internship at DEFINE Innovation Hub. Through the valuable connections and hands-on experience gained during the internship, Kush secured a placement opportunity at SelectAM. This is a fantastic example of how DEFINE not only supports startups, but also helps talented individuals take the next step in their careers by connecting them with forward-thinking companies. Stories like these showcase the true impact of the DEFINE ecosystem: creating pathways where innovation, talent, and opportunity come together to shape the future.
We are happy to welcome Kush Patel to our team for a 4-month internship on further automating 2D to 3D workflows! Kush is an expert on machine learning and data analytics with hands-on experience, currently doing his Bachelors in information and communication technology at Häme University of Applied Sciences, HAMK and has been working as an intern at the Defence Innovation Network Finland (DEFINE), therefore a great fit for this challenging and exciting task!

Five years ago today, I accepted Karen Grace-Baker, MBA's offer to join ScholarMatch (SM). The world was in turmoil; we were navigating a pandemic, and our students were adjusting to virtual learning. I worried that all the progress we'd made in supporting first-generation students' transition from high school to college and college to career would suffer setbacks. Today, we're still facing an uncertain labor market. The World Economic Forum's Future of Jobs Report 2025 projects that 39% of workers' core skills will change within five years, with the fastest-growing roles in data, AI, cybersecurity, healthcare, and specialized technology. ScholarMatch is rising to the occasion and doubling down on our support to help our college #students transition from college to #career, thanks to our wonderful career #coaches #mentors and partners. I am proud of our scholars like Pedro Tapia Zamora and SM career coaches like Anthony Camacho, who embody the beauty of joining forces with our talents and skills to support our emerging leaders. Today, ScholarMatch continues to support #firstgeneration, low-income students through a fully integrated virtual and hybrid college access, persistence, and career launch model. We serve roughly 1,000 students a year across 38 states, and our scholars graduate at nearly 4x the national rate for first-gen, low-income peers (80% within five years, 98% freshman persistence). I am proud to collaborate with a wonderful team, board, volunteers, and, most importantly, our talented students! P.S. Congrats, Pedro Tapia Zamora on your summer internship and Anthony thank you for your mentorship to Pedro! Nevada Department of Transportation is very lucky to have you! If interested in sharing your talents with a SM scholar, please visit our website for more info: https://lnkd.in/g64ybKgf

Virtual collaboration, leadership, self-confidence, and AI prompt engineering were at the top of the list when we asked our interns what they felt they learned most about. When asked what they valued most, they said one-on-one mentoring with Dwight E. Rhodes, Ed.L.D. and new connections with their peers in the program. At Design Arts Seminars, Inc., learning and continuous improvement are in our DNA. We always learn a great deal from working with higher ed students in our internship program and from designing the learning experience that will help them practice the top 2030 skills on the rise, as identified in the World Economic Forum’s 2025 Future of Jobs Report. These are the skills that will carry them forward, and we're proud to have played a small part in that journey. Congratulations Veronika Drab, Yukta Karki, Tyla Smith, Unika Bista, and Mia Soto on your completion of DAS’ Spring 2026 M.LAB internship program. Thank you Nathan Paul Jones at the University of Colorado Boulder for your help sharing the opportunity with your students.

I recently had the privilege of being featured in an RMIT University video highlighting the power of university–industry partnerships. Representing DuluxGroup in this conversation was an honour, and it reinforced just how valuable these collaborations are for both organisations. Partnerships like this create a space where academic insight meets real‑world application. Universities gain direct industry perspectives that shape relevant, future‑ready learning, while organisations like ours benefit from fresh thinking, research capability, and emerging talent. It’s a two‑way exchange that accelerates innovation and helps solve the challenges that matter. Feeling grateful to RMIT specially Tu Le and Stuart Bateman for the invitation and proud to be part of a partnership that continues to push boundaries and create meaningful impact. Well done Nguyen Dang Nhat (Nathan) on your first publication and great to have you as a HDR as part of this collaboration. When we started Ravyn LTD , we kept asking ourselves the same question: why did we have to learn all of this the hard way? Ravyn Academy is our answer. A bootcamp built on what we actually wish someone had taught us before we started building, shipping, and selling. No theory for theory’s sake. Just the real thing, business and technical syllabuses taught the way they should’ve been taught to us. If you’re a student looking to spend your summer building something real, this is for you.
Today marks a new chapter in Ravyn’s vision. Introducing Ravyn Academy, Ravyn’s own venture into education, learning, and growth. We strive to teach students and clients alike what we wish we knew before diving into the space ourselves. Our first initiative expands on our workshops into a full scale online summer bootcamp. An internship experience for those looking to learn business how it’s supposed to be taught, hands-on, instead of sitting at a desk for 8 hours a day. Get ready to dive into the business and technical tracks, build real projects, and climb the same ladder we did, only faster. For registration and more details, email contact@ravynltd.com Can’t wait to see you on day 1!

Had a great time presenting at the University of Denver's 4D Symposium yesterday on how faculty and staff can empower students to maintain their voice and purpose in the job and internship search. As AI continues to reshape that process, I challenged attendees to guide students away from full automation and toward a more intentional approach: one where AI amplifies purpose rather than outsources it. Big thanks to Laura, Sam, and the rest of the 4D team for hosting a fantastic event and for the chance to contribute to the conversation!
