Reflecting on Neurodiversity Celebration Week Last week was a powerful reminder of how much awareness around neurodiversity is growing, and the difference it makes when organisations actively engage with it. From the Visible Festival (thank you to Nansa - Norfolk and Norwich SEND Association for bringing such an important event together), to working with the team at Sinclair International, what stood out most was the openness, curiosity, and willingness to learn. When businesses take the time to understand neurodiversity, it creates more supportive, effective, and sustainable working environments for everyone. We’re often asked where to start practically, so we’re giving you a simple resource we share regularly, and it’s helped many people begin to make small, manageable changes: Small Shifts, Big Changes (free 5-step guide) → https://lnkd.in/eMG5eeuh Small shifts really do make a difference. #Neurodiversity #NeurodiversityAtWork #WorkplaceWellbeing #InclusionMatters #OrganisationalCulture

During Neurodiversity Celebration Week, it’s been a quiet, reflective time for me thinking about how much we need neurodiversity, not just to include it, but to truly learn from it. This post is a revisit of an image I shared in 2024 by #Keeley #Shaw. It beautifully captures how neurodiversity gives us a new perspective challenging outdated ideas and inviting us to see #intelligence, #creativity, and success differently. It teaches #authenticity the courage to be who we are, not who #systems expect us to be. And it reveals beauty in difference, in ways of thinking that expand, not limit, the world around us. As someone who is #dyslexic and an #advocate, I see this every day when we shift our lens, we don’t just support individuals, we transform #spaces. Neurodiversity is not something to be accommodated. It is something to be #valued and #celebrated when navigating spaces not designed for you. . #NeurodiversityCelebrationWeek #Neurodiversity #Inclusion #Authenticity #Dyslexia #NeurodivergentVoices #CelebrateDifference

We have been busy this week at Evolve highlighting Neurodiversity Celebration Week. But we all know this topic is not just to be discussed this week. It does however give us the prompt to start or resume the conversation or, if we are lucky, to reflect on all the good practise already happening in our workplaces. So proud of my team who have developed some really easy to use resources to get those conversations going - maybe as an opener to a team meeting to set the scene or at the end of a meeting to go away to reflect on. And we will continue to create them and keep the conversation going all year round! Thank you team 👏
Today marks the start of Neurodiversity Celebration Week - a time to recognise and reflect on the many different ways people think, learn and experience the world. Across workplaces and educational settings, greater awareness of neurodiversity is prompting important conversations about how environments, expectations and support structures can work for a wider range of people. For organisations and schools, building neuro-inclusive cultures isn’t only about awareness. It’s about developing shared understanding, practical guidance, and the confidence to support different ways of working and learning. Throughout the week, we’ll be sharing insights, information and perspectives to help support these conversations and contribute to a more informed understanding of neurodiversity in professional and educational environments. We’ve also created some FREE resources you can download using the link in our comments. Because neuroinclusion starts with awareness, education, and collaboration. #NeurodiversityCelebrationWeek #Neurodiversity #InclusiveEducation #EvolvePsychology

Neurodiversity Celebration Week highlights the importance of recognising and valuing different ways of thinking, learning and experiencing the world. The initiative encourages organisations and communities to move beyond awareness and focus on creating inclusive environments where neurodivergent individuals are supported and empowered. For organisations working within communities, this is particularly important. Many individuals accessing support services may be navigating neurodivergence alongside other challenges such as housing instability, financial pressure or social isolation. At the Daylight Centre, we see the value of flexible, person-centred support that adapts to individual needs. This approach not only improves engagement but also leads to better long-term outcomes. Creating inclusive communities is not a one-week focus - it’s an ongoing commitment. #CSR #InclusionMatters #DaylightCentre

Last week Dawn Molitor celebrated Neurodiversity Week with this great article: https://lnkd.in/g8RxvaKG Neurodiversity Celebration Week is a powerful reminder that human brains aren’t problems to fix, they’re patterns to understand, honor, and support. And that message sits at the heart of restorative justice. The article highlights a neuro‑affirming approach rooted in listening for understanding, relationship‑building, and dignity-centered support. Those same commitments drive restorative practices: slowing down to hear the story behind behavior, recognizing barriers rather than blaming individuals, and creating environments where every person, of every neurotype, can participate authentically. When we pair neuroaffirming practice with restorative justice, we move beyond compliance and toward connection, collaboration, and community care. We stop asking “How do we change this behavior?” and start asking “What is this person communicating, and how can we respond with humanity?” Celebrating neurodiversity isn’t just awareness, it’s a restorative act. It’s choosing systems that honor voice, agency, and difference. It’s building classrooms, workplaces, and communities where everyone feels heard. This week, and every week, is an invitation to design spaces where all minds can thrive.

Neurodiversity isn’t a week; it’s an ongoing commitment #NeurodiversityCelebrationWeek provides an essential window to reflect on how we can create an environment where all minds have the space, support and structure to work together. But true inclusivity isn’t just something that happens once a year – it requires listening, learning and continual action. As this video shows, we’re all continuously learning – and that’s the point. There’s always more to understand – both about supporting neurodivergent young people and about nurturing neuro-inclusive workplaces. So, as the week draws to a close, we want to hear from you: What questions do you have about neurodiversity, neurodivergence or supporting neurodivergent young people? Add your thoughts and questions in the comments – and let’s keep the conversation going… Thank you for journeying with us as, together, we build a more neuro-inclusive world. #NeurodiversityCelebrationWeek

🧠 Care doesn’t work the same way for everyone. And it shouldn’t have to. In social care, there’s often an unspoken expectation of what “good” looks like, how people communicate, process information, and manage a shift. But in reality, every team is made up of people who think, work and respond differently. And when those differences aren’t supported, it creates friction. Not because people aren’t capable but because systems weren’t designed with them in mind. For Neurodiversity Celebration Week, we’ve been exploring what neuroinclusion actually looks like in practice, in partnership with Divergent Thinking UK. Not policies or posters. But the everyday decisions that shape how a shift runs, from how information is shared, to how confident people feel asking questions or using their judgement. Alongside this, our Senior People Manager, Jade B., has shared a blog on five practical adjustments that help reduce that friction and support teams to do their best work. Because when environments are clearer and more supportive: ⭐ Teams feel more confident 🗣️ Communication becomes easier 💜 And care quality improves 🎥 Take a watch. 📖 Read the full blog: https://lnkd.in/ezku_Jat ▶️ Watch the full video on YouTube: https://lnkd.in/dSv9UraF #NeurodiversityCelebrationWeek #SocialCare #Neuroinclusion

🌍 Neurodiversity Celebration Week What if neurodivergence isn’t the problem… but the way we design the world is? For too long, neurodivergent people have been: “managed” “treated” “supported to fit in” or worse… “fixed” Let’s be honest - that framing is outdated. Neurodivergence is not a flaw in the individual, it’s a mismatch between people and environments. And mismatches can be redesigned. We don’t say: “wheelchair users need fixing” we build ramps So why do we still say: “neurodivergent people need fixing” 👉 instead of changing environments, expectations, and systems? A neuroaffirming world looks like: - Spaces designed with sensory regulation in mind - Workplaces built for different thinking styles - Education that values creativity, curiosity, and difference - Support that is human, relational, and compassionate The truth? The world hasn’t been designed for all brains. That’s the problem. Not the people, so let’s shift it. Stop asking: 👉 “How do we fix the person?” Start asking: 👉 “How do we design better environments?” Because when we do that… We don’t just support neurodivergent people We unlock better outcomes for everyone Celebrate it. Support it. Design for it. #NeurodiversityCelebrationWeek #Neurodiversity #Neuroaffirming #InclusionMatters #DesignForBrains EventWell®
