WHAT in the world does she have to do with HR? As others have stated, we would rather have a more affordable SHRM focused on professional learning and growth than these flashy celebrity appearances. SHRM, are you listening to members?
Love the idea by SHRM blending entertainment with HR is truly the future of employee experience 👏 But real inclusion isn’t just about ideas… it’s about who gets a seat at the table. Events like #SHRM26 should be accessible to every HR professional whether a member or non-member at reasonable pricing, so learning and networking are not limited by affordability.
This makes no sense to me. Your focus on celebrity "appearances" just drives HR professionals to find smaller, more local learning and networking opportunities. We want to learn, not be entertained.
SHRM is really losing it.
She has experience in HR? Seems like SHRM has too big of a budget. Maybe reduce the price and less celebrities.
What a waste of money. Celebrities are not what we want. We want affordable events that allow for real development and small enough to actually network with attendees.
SHRM lost its way so long ago. Their speakers are far too often politicians and celebrities. Most HR leaders really needed to learn more financial management and law.
My 90’s teenage heart could not be more excited for this!!!! I’ve read the comments and understand both sides of the coin (I’m in HR… right???). Yes, it’s expensive, however they do offer discounts for those who register early, student pricing, and member rates. Attending virtually (which I did in 2024) is also cheaper and without the entertainment… I got so much out of the sessions I watched. You can also attend for FREE if you volunteer which I’m doing this year. It’s my first in-person SHRM event and I am over the moon. HR always takes care of everyone and I’m looking forward to SHRM taking care of us for a week by providing this awesome space full of learning and fun. I do value and respect everyone’s view, this is mine. 💙
STOP paying huge money for these celebrities and lower the price of your conferences so more HR professionals can afford to attend! This isn't about being entertained. It is supposed to be about learning and growing.
