From March 9–20, DoW Copilot for Mission Success reached nearly 8,000 attendees across 20 sessions, showcasing how Copilot can transform mission work. Participants learned about Microsoft’s vision for AI, how Copilot works—including built‑in safeguards to protect data—prompting best practices, and real‑world demonstrations of Copilot Chat (Basic) and M365 Copilot (Premium) in action. The series highlighted how these capabilities can enhance day‑to‑day knowledge‑worker operations, driving greater efficiency and effectiveness in support of the mission. This week Bianca Wiesmayr was at the Hannover messe. Her highlights? Read on. I think it was a great opportunity to get an overview of the state of the art in factory automation. As researchers, we are often more focused on writing and reading papers - and may forget what the state of the practice is. Many companies have booths that resemble a technical museum: demonstrators and exhibitions that explain their technologies. With that, one really gets a feeling of ideas (shown in immersive AR sketches), proof-of-concepts (with screenshots and movies of prototypes), demos, and ready-for-sale product demonstrations. This helped me understand where the industry is heading and how my research aligns with that - to hopefully create some results that the world doesn't yet know it needs. And the best part? Got to meet Shreya Deshmukh who was working on the providing end of this trade fair.
