We all know what AI can do in the learning space today: - Generate prompts - Take notes - Analyze survey results - Summarize transcripts But where do we go from here? What comes next? After a recent conversation with my leader, I started exploring how we might take the next step: using AI not just as a tool, but as a co-facilitator in virtual training sessions. I'm not saying that we move to a Jetsons-style classroom: a robot teacher at the front, sharing content and asking questions and the human facilitator stands at the back. Instead how do we work together to guide the experience, reading the room, and pressing the right buttons at the right time. This isn’t science fiction. It’s a vision for how AI can enhance human-led learning. I’ve long believed that people learn from people they like, people they trust... but they learn from people. And that is still true. Facilitators bring empathy, intuition, and connection. But we don't have to do it alone. AI can bring speed, scale, and support to our sessions. We don’t have to choose one over the other. 🤖 Always Learning—Using AI for Upskilling and Learning I'm always looking for new ways to learn and grow, so this week I completed “How to Use AI for Upskilling and Lifelong Learning” by Ruth Gotian, Ed.D., M.S. on LinkedIn Learning. It explored how AI can enhance and personalize our learning journeys by helping to: ✅ Set learning goals and identify what to focus on next ✅ Select the right courses, books, or podcasts for your career path ✅ Break topics into short, digestible lessons ✅ Summarize key points and track your progress But this course was also a reminder of balance: ✔️ Think critically—always check the accuracy and credibility of AI-generated information. ✔️ Stay human—pair AI with mentors and colleagues; real conversation deepens learning. ✔️ Keep learning active—apply what you learn, discuss it, and reflect.
