Is your eLearning actually learning; or just content delivery? There’s a huge difference between sharing information and designing experiences that lead to behavior change. I still see so many people confuse content creation with instructional design. It’s not just: ❌ Putting slides in order ❌ Narrating facts ❌ Slapping “Next” buttons on screens It’s about: ✅ Aligning to business goals ✅ Solving real learner problems ✅ Reducing friction between learning and doing ✅ Designing with the learner, not just at them When we treat learning like a one-way broadcast, we’re missing the point. Instructional design is a creative, strategic process rooted in human behavior, brain science, and business impact. Let’s stop measuring our work in slide count and start measuring it in transformation. 💬 What’s your go-to tip for turning passive content into active learning? #InstructionalDesign #eLearning #LearningExperienceDesign #DigitalLearning #IDOLAcademy #LearningThatSticks #CorporateTraining
Totally agree! While designing tech-enhanced courses for Swahili and English learners, I realized that true learning happens when content meets context. It’s not just about tools, it’s about crafting experiences that connect to learners’ real goals and environments. That’s where the transformation begins!
I would add embedding multilevel evauation in order to gauge application of learning and improve upon it dynamically.
I especially appreciate the part about solving real learner problems. Focusing on solving the problem rather than slide count or how well we use a fancy tool is so important for impactful learning. It can also reduce wasted time and effort.
It would be nice to add “solve business problems.” Can we help solve revenue generation problems? Yes, we can. Can we reduce the time it takes for new hires to onboard and make them more effective sooner? Yes, we can. Can we enhance employee safety to minimize risk and litigation? Yes, we can. And so much more if we are paying attention and advocating not only for the learner but also for solving the business issues.
