Hi everyone! I’m excited to share a small but powerful Rigging Tip that can make a big difference in your workflow Controller Visibility Based on Mouse Proximity 🎮✨ This smart feature in maya automatically hides rig controllers when your mouse isn't near them, helping to keep your viewport clean and distraction-free. As you move your mouse closer, the controllers reappear smoothly, ready for interaction. 💡 ✅ Cleaner Workspace ✅ Improved Focus While Animating ✅ Ideal for Dense Scenes with Multiple Controllers ✅ Works with Custom Objects Too! It really feels like magic✨ especially when working on complex rigs where too many visible controls can slow down both your scene and your mind. This technique helps you stay focused, organized, and efficient. Hope you find this helpful! #Maya #Rigging #AnimationTools #TechArt #CharacterRigging #CleanViewport #AnimationTips #MayaRigging #CGI #IndieAnimator
Some animators like me would prefer the controls to be always on display, except I'm very familiar with the rig. Controls appearing and disappearing is distracting.
This is an inbuilt feature in Maya called "Tag as Controller," which can be found under the Control menu. This feature not only allows you to hide the transform node based on the mouse cursor, but it also adds all the tagged nodes for parallel evaluation and to define custom pickwalk hierarchies. This node has been available since Maya 2016. https://help.autodesk.com/view/MAYAUL/2024/ENU/?guid=GUID-17AF3B37-8A57-46DD-8808-D4BFF23AD285
Well put, Purushottam
Can something like this be executed in Blender/ unreal too?
Nice idea but I think a hotkey to hide/show all controls is all it needs.
I mean,.very cool but, I normally just use a picker and hide all the controls anyways
Definitely worth
is this from Advanced skeleton Right?
