🤔 Why do procurement teams miss goals—even when they seem aligned? No visible conflict. No disagreement. Everyone is doing the “right thing.” Yet the outcome still falls short. The issue isn’t whether teams are aligned, it’s that alignment exists only on the surface. ✅ Different interpretations of the same goal ✅ Decisions fragmented across roles ✅ Critical trade-offs left unowned 🧠 The team isn’t misaligned—it’s aligned at the wrong level. If you want real results, don’t just align direction—align how decisions are made. 👉 Read more: https://lnkd.in/grEvfJ68 #Procurement #TeamDynamics #DecisionMaking #Leadership #ProcureDNA #TheMBTIForProcurement

I probably shouldn’t be saying this… But a lot of organizations are not losing money because things are expensive, they’re losing money because procurement is treated like a routine, not a strategy. Let’s be honest. The real issues are uncomfortable: 1) Approvals that happen without scrutiny 2)Urgent purchases that bypass process 3) Decisions driven by pressure, not data 4) Vendor choices influenced by familiarity, not value And then we wonder why costs keep rising. Procurement is not a back-office function. It is a profit protection engine. When done right: Every spend aligns with business goals Every supplier delivers measurable value Every decision is backed by data, not emotion Every risk is managed before it becomes a crisis Here’s the part many leaders avoid: Weak procurement doesn’t just increase cost, it quietly erodes profitability. No noise. No alarms. Just consistent financial leakage. If you sit in procurement, finance, or leadership, this is worth reflecting on: Are your procurement decisions creating value, or just closing requests? #ProcurementLeadership #StrategicSourcing #FinanceExcellence #SupplyChain #Leadership

In today’s organizations, procurement is no longer a gatekeeper — it’s a business partner. But that shift doesn’t happen through titles… it happens through how we introduce ourselves. When meeting a business leader for the first time, don’t start with policies, processes, or cost controls. Start with value. Instead of saying: “I manage sourcing, vendors, and compliance…” Try: “I help you make better decisions on demand, cost, and risk — so your function can scale sustainably and deliver stronger results.” A strong procurement partner focuses on three things from day one: 🔹 Understanding the business Not just the requirements — but the strategy, priorities, and pressures behind them. 🔹 Speaking the language of outcomes Move the conversation from “savings” to “impact” — whether it’s speed to market, resilience, or customer experience. 🔹 Building trust through insight Bring data, benchmarks, and options — not just approvals or rejections. The goal is simple: Position procurement as a function that enables decisions, not delays them. Because when business leaders see procurement as a strategic advisor rather than a control function, collaboration changes — and so do results. #Procurement #BusinessPartnering #Leadership #StrategicThinking #ValueCreation

🤔 Why do smart procurement professionals still make bad decisions? Same capability. Same data. Yet very different outcomes. We often assume decisions fail because people lack logic. But in reality, the opposite is true. ✏️ Most decisions fail not because of poor logic. But because different logics are never aligned. 👉 Different people optimize for different priorities 👉 Trade-offs remain implicit 👉 Decision logic exists, but is not integrated 💡 The issue is not rationality. It is the lack of a decision system. If you want better outcomes, do not just improve capability. Design how decisions are structured and aligned. 🚀 Read more: https://lnkd.in/gUTi6NAr #Procurement #DecisionMaking #Leadership #TeamDynamics #ProcureDNA #TheMBTIForProcurement

A procurement maturity assessment isn't an audit looking for fault. It's a diagnostic looking for leverage. The difference matters. An audit makes people defensive. A diagnostic provides them with a baseline of where the function actually sits across governance, capability, systems, and stakeholder engagement. That baseline is what turns "we think we need investment" into "here's the evidence, here's the gap, and here's what closing it is worth." ⚠️ Why do smart procurement teams still struggle to align? 💡 Same goals. Same data. Yet completely different decisions. The problem isn’t clarity—it’s how each person interprets the goal. ☑️ Some prioritize cost ☑️ Some focus on long-term value ☑️ Others manage risk or relationships 💡 Different decision styles = hidden misalignment. Alignment doesn’t fail at the goal level, it fails at the interpretation level. If you want better team alignment, start by understanding how your team thinks.🧠 👉 Read more: https://lnkd.in/gPCZ5cGm #Procurement #DecisionMaking #TeamDynamics #Leadership #ProcureDNA #TheMBTIForProcurement

Most companies don’t lose money in procurement… They lose it in poor decisions. Not negotiating properly. Not planning demand. Not evaluating suppliers beyond price. Procurement isn’t about buying cheaper. It’s about buying smarter. The real value lies in: • Right supplier selection • Timing the market • Understanding total cost (not just price) • Building strategic relationships In today’s volatile markets, procurement is no longer a support function — it’s a profit lever. If your procurement team isn’t driving strategy, you’re leaving money on the table. #Procurement #StrategicSourcing #SupplyChain #CostOptimization #Leadership #AshvidaConsultants

🤔 Do the best procurement teams really think alike? Fast decisions and smooth discussions may feel efficient. But too much similarity often leads to blind spots. The real strength lies in complementarity. ✅ Different perspectives reduce risk ✅ Different styles surface trade-offs ✅ Different priorities strengthen decisions 💡 Strong teams are not the most aligned. They are the most balanced. If you want better outcomes, do not hire for similarity. Build for complementarity. 👉 Read more: https://lnkd.in/g7FdPUk4 #Procurement #TeamDynamics #DecisionMaking #Leadership #ProcureDNA #TheMBTIForProcurement

Throughout my career, I have enjoyed working at the intersection of commercial strategy, supplier management, and operational delivery. What has remained consistent is the importance of building structure where complexity exists: - Stronger governance where accountability is unclear - Better commercial control where spend is fragmented - Clearer supplier ownership where performance is inconsistent practical processes that support growth and transformation That combination of procurement, vendor management, and business alignment is where I believe experienced leaders can make a real difference. #ProcurementLeader #VendorManagementOffice #CommercialLeadership #BusinessTransformation
