One video. Multiple learning pathways. Students use video differently: some catch up after missing class, others revise for exams, and many need accessibility features or asynchronous options. The question isn't whether to create separate versions. It's whether your design serves everyone from the start. Shaun Searle from the University of Portsmouth explains how structure, signposting, and targeted content apply universal design principles to video learning, eliminating barriers instead of retrofitting solutions. When video is intentionally designed, it works for everyone. Hear Shaun's approach in our latest webinar: https://panop.to/3OgmYow #Webinar

Great course design isn’t just about how things look, it’s also about how students make meaning from content. But in Canvas, even well-intentioned design can turn into cognitive overload when too many images, links, and resources compete for attention. Building Universal Design in Canvas: Supportive Representation February 26 | 11am MT We’ll walk through practical ways to: • Reduce cognitive overload • Improve content clarity and structure • Design more inclusive learning experiences • Do it all inside Canvas - no HTML expertise required Register here: https://bit.ly/4aEGimD #CanvasLMS #UDL

I’ve realized something important in my learning journey: confidence doesn’t come from watching tutorials- it comes from practicing. Tutorials are great for understanding tools and getting inspiration. But the real growth happens when you sit down, open your laptop, and start creating. Because practice teaches you things that reels never will: ✔ how to fix mistakes ✔ how to think like a designer ✔ how to improve step-by-step ✔ how to trust your own creative decisions And yes — with practice, confidence slowly starts coming from within. But having the right guidance also makes the journey easier and faster. Today’s reminder for myself: Consume less. Create more. That’s the real path to confidence. 🚀✨ #GraphicDesign #DesignJourney #Consistency #Learning #CreativeProcess #DesignPractice #GrowthMindset2026

Video is transforming how students learn, and AI is helping teams create and deliver content more effectively. Join Panopto's upcoming webinar to see how institutions are moving from passive video playback to intelligent learning support.
Video has become one of the most-used resources in Canvas, but how students engage with it might surprise you. They’re not watching hour-long lectures from start to finish. Instead, they search for a specific formula, revisit a worked example, or rewatch a concept from last week’s class. In partnership with Instructure, we’re hosting a webinar that explores this shift and what it means for learning design. Join us to see how institutions are moving beyond passive video playback with AI-powered search, summaries, and key concepts embedded directly in Canvas workflows, helping students quickly find what matters most. Here’s the reality: most Storyline courses that “pass” an accessibility audit still aren’t truly accessible. Accessibility isn’t about ticking a box. It’s about ensuring your learners can actually navigate, understand, and complete your course, no matter how they access it. On March 24 at 12 PM ET, we’re breaking down what real WCAG 2.2 AA compliance looks like inside Storyline, and showing you how to fix the issues most creators don’t even know exist. You’ll walk away with: • The 5 biggest accessibility failures hiding in Storyline projects • How to test using screen readers and keyboard navigation with confidence • Simple workflow updates that make accessibility part of your design routine If you build or review courses in Storyline, this session is the difference between “audit-passing” and truly inclusive. I enjoy redoing older tutorials with sharper methods. The basics still work. They just need clearer examples and better context. Sometimes a reminder beats a brand new tactic. #webdesign
