Merlin Pilot to be integrated with Northrop Grumman's Beacon™

🇺🇸🚀🛰️ Northrop Grumman has completed the third test of its Advanced Hypersonic Technology (AHT) Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU). The AHT IMU uses a resonating gyroscope to measure rotation and determine the aircraft’s orientation and movement. It was tested aboard a sounding rocket. “Testing the Northrop Grumman AHT IMU in real-world conditions at unprecedented speeds, proves we’ve developed a navigation system that makes platforms incredibly agile and nearly impossible to defend against,” stated Sam Dimashkie, director of future navigation technology at Northrop Grumman’s Research and Development organization.

🇺🇸🚀 RTX’s Raytheon has announced the Next-Generation Short-Range Interceptor (NGSRI), a missile positioned as the successor to the Stinger system. The NGSRI will feature a rocket motor developed with Northrop Grumman, packing fuel more densely to boost performance without increasing the motor’s size. “The rocket motor itself is a really, really fixed volume, so it is a challenge to get more range out of it, but we are getting a significant amount,” said Raytheon’s NGSRI Tech Director William Strauss.

$LMT: Lockheed Martin—$LMT—reported a record $179B backlog driven by huge multi-year awards like PAC-3, JASSM/LARASM, and CH-53K. Q3 saw over $31B in orders—1.7 book-to-bill. F-35 program remains a key growth driver, with strong international demand. Management guided a full year revenue beat of 0.3% and adjusted EPS beat of 0.8% but next quarter revenue and adjusted EPS miss of 6.0% and 6.5% respectively. $LMT is ramping up production and managing its supply chain to meet increased demand—investments are being made to boost capacity, particularly for solid rocket motors and seekers. The company is also strategically investing in R&D, focusing on space-based interceptors, autonomous Blackhawk helicopters, and sixth-generation tech for F-35 and F-22. Company is well-positioned for Homeland Defense Mission, including the Golden Dome initiative, leveraging existing expertise in space-based defense and command/control systems. $LMT is also addressing pension obligations and committed to returning capital to shareholders through dividends and buybacks.
