AI is a massive accelerant for the home services industry. I recently joined the Founders In Arms podcast with Rajat Suri and Immad Akhund to talk about what that means for Thumbtack. Our goal has always been to make it easy to find and hire the right pros. When you’re hiring someone to work on your home, convenience isn’t the deciding factor. Confidence is. When it comes to your home, the hardest part is knowing who to trust and what to do next. For years, word of mouth has been the default. AI gives us a chance to even the score. It helps us bring more structure, context, and personalization into the experience so homeowners can move forward with more confidence. It also helps us better understand what pros need while we handle the complexity behind the scenes. Confidence is the right word. But most platforms still treat it like a UX problem, not an execution problem. If the flow from search to match to booking to job completion isn’t tightly structured, trust breaks fast no matter how good the AI is. We build that execution layer, structuring progression, ownership, and how work moves across that journey, with AI embedded into it, so confidence actually holds end to end.

Just finished listening to the long form conversation and this one goes into a new layer of depth. Long form - https://youtu.be/oTt6Lq0_-RY?si=EQprJEN5qAaLkLdj

What’s interesting is how AI can strengthen both sides of the marketplace. Homeowners get clearer guidance, while pros get better matching and fewer unqualified leads. When that balance improves, the whole ecosystem works better.

This is great. Thanks for sharing.
