Data-driven communication is what we do in DG COMM at the European Parliament. It’s not just web metrics that matter—real-life, large-scale events benefit equally from robust stats and figures. We welcomed over 22 600 guests across Strasbourg (7 600) and Brussels (15 000), then gathered 2 368 survey responses at our Thank You & Goodbye stand. The results speak volumes: 86 % overall satisfaction (83.6 % in Strasbourg; 90.2 % in Brussels), 77 % found navigation easy, and 75 % said the event deepened their understanding of the European Parliament. Visitors highlighted what they enjoyed most—exploring the Hemicycle, meeting MEPs, and discovering thematic animations—and offered clear, constructive suggestions: • More intuitive wayfinding along the circuit • Enhanced accessibility for families and people with reduced mobility • Additional interactive sessions with subject-matter experts These insights are already guiding our 2026 preparations. By grounding every decision in hard data and real-time visitor feedback, we’re continuously improving the way we open the doors of democracy to Europe’s citizens. We can’t wait to welcome even more people next year—and to build on what we’ve learned together.

Back in September, I helped organize and participated in ELI’s 2025 Workshop for Indoor Air Quality Officials—a one-of-a-kind forum for state, local, and tribal officials to share ideas and solutions on indoor air quality. This year’s workshop featured lively discussions on IAQ in schools, healthy homes, and new research shaping evidence-based management. I also had the chance to present on ELI’s resources, including our Database of State IAQ Laws, which tracks how jurisdictions across the country are addressing issues like mold, radon, and ventilation. It was my honor to have learned from so many dedicated public health and environmental professionals! This year’s APWA Western Snow & Ice Conference was an incredible opportunity to see innovation in action and connect with professionals from across the country, all united by a shared purpose: keeping America’s roads clear and open. At the National Coalition for Open Roads (NCFOR), our mission is to advance winter road practices through collaboration, education, and community. We’ve put together a short recap video from the event, capturing some of the people and ideas driving progress in our industry. Over the next few months, we will release a series of short videos from this conference featuring key insights, best practices, and innovations from leaders in the field. Follow NCFOR to stay updated, and if there are 2026 conferences or events you think we should attend, we’d love your recommendations. Together, we can continue to strengthen the network of professionals who keep our roads safe, efficient, and open for all.
