We’re excited to be working alongside Paradise Worldwide as early partners in our AI music detection effort. AI-generated music is a complex, continually evolving challenge, and we’re well aware of the questions and concerns that come with it. Rather than positioning detection as something fixed, we see this partnership as an opportunity to work closely together to better understand what "detection" is (and could be) and where its limits are. Our approach is intentionally open towards this fast-evolving landscape, and as an independent company, we're focused on building technology that fills the gaps where they matter most.

🎧A team of researchers from #CISUC is developing artificial intelligence technology capable of recognizing emotions in music by combining audio analysis with lyrics. The MERGE project—Music Emotion Recognition: Next Generation, coordinated by Rui Pedro Paiva, aims to give new momentum to research in this area by creating more accurate systems to classify music based on what it conveys. 💡 One of the main innovations is the bimodal approach, which integrates different dimensions of music, such as rhythm, tonality, or expressiveness, allowing for a more comprehensive identification of emotions. 🎶 Among the results already developed is a prototype that positions songs on an “emotional map,” helping to create playlists tailored to the user’s mood. ↪️ Learn more at https://lnkd.in/e62qPS3N

10,000 live concert tapes. Recorded by one person. The biggest untapped dataset in music isn’t on Spotify—it’s in closets. Chicago superfan Aadam Jacobs has been taping shows since the 1980s, building an archive of 10,000+ recordings. Beyond the human story, this is a case study in long‑tail IP: analog, unique, hard to replicate—and commercially underutilized. The opportunity isn’t just preservation; it’s rights-cleared access, search, and productization. - 💡 What this means for founders: Build the stack—bulk digitization, AI restoration, setlist/STT indexing, embeddings, and discovery—paired with rights workflows and rev-share. - 📌 For product & growth teams: Partner with collectors, venues, and artist estates. Package niche archives into B2B (sync/licensing, documentaries, podcasts) and B2C (fan memberships, live “vaults”). - 📉 Investor signal: Passion-led collections create defensible data moats. Risk = IP and takedowns; edge = compliance-first platforms that make creators and rights holders whole. If you owned 10,000 analog recordings, how would you productize them—ethically and profitably? #MusicTech #CreatorEconomy #DigitalPreservation #AI #AudioTech #IP #Startups #DataMoats

Reflecting on the weekend, I considered the growing role of AI in music studios. The integration of AI technology is reshaping how we approach music production, influencing creativity and the overall process. While it's fascinating to see how these advancements can enhance artistic expression and streamline workflows in the studio environment, the question it poses is the extent of reliance on them. #AI #MusicIndustry #Production #creativity #technology #ArtistFirst

Michael Nash our global CDO at HumanX this week in San Francisco, alongside Splice CEO Kakul Srivastava and my fav Dan Runcie of Trapital , in a sharp and timely conversation on Music and AI. What stood out was Michael’s clarity of thought and the way he cut through the noise around AI in our business. The idea that artist replacement was ever the endgame is, as he rightly called out, rooted in a flawed thesis. The real opportunity is far more interesting and far more powerful. Amplifying creativity, not substituting it. His framing was precise, grounded and delivered with the kind of cocktail napkin math that just lands instantly and quite honestly the best I’ve ever heard. Mike I’m gonna use that maths now myself..🤣😇 What is becoming increasingly clear is that our approach to AI is not reactive. It is deliberate, artist first, and built around control, consent and creative expansion. The technology is only as meaningful as the framework we build around it, and that is where the leadership matters. Strong moment. Strong message. And very well said.
