This class is personal for me. I have spent years working with employers and watching talented young professionals stumble over things that were completely avoidable — not because they were unmotivated or unprepared for the work, but because no one had taught them how to navigate the workplace. Now my own children are this age, and I see it through both lenses: as a professional and as a parent. Our kids are smart and capable, but they don’t always know what they don’t know. Have your student join me for Intern 101. I’ll be sharing real stories and practical guidance to help them start their summer internship with confidence. https://lnkd.in/ekBME68t

One advice to the 1st and 2nd yr students...don't wait last year to do internship - Start getting industry exposure - Understand how process work - Get experience with your education The gap between a textbook and a shop floor is huge. Starting internships in your 1st or 2nd year gives you a massive advantage: Context: You understand the "why" behind the formulas. Clarity: You learn what you actually enjoy before the pressure of placements. Confidence: You build a professional vocabulary that can't be taught in a classroom. Academic knowledge gets you the degree, but industry exposure gets you the career. Start early. #internship

As I wrap up my internship with the Town of Blacksburg and Virginia Tech’s Department of Management, I want to take a moment to reflect on my experiences this past semester. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is how important it is to actively manage your time and workload. Tasks can build up quickly in a professional setting, and it’s important to stay organized and prioritize effectively. For students applying to internships, my advice would be to create a system early on to manage your responsibilities and stay on track. You should also always ask for clarification or feedback if you need it. This experience has helped me become more intentional and disciplined in how I approach my work, and I’m excited to continue developing these skills. #internship #professionaldevelopment

🎓 Summer Internship Tip: Don’t leave college credit on the table! 🎓 If you’re heading into a summer internship, now is a great time to check whether your experience could also earn you academic credit. Many universities offer internship/practicum courses that count toward junior or senior-level hours. The key is asking early and communicating often. A few quick steps to help set yourself up for success: ✅ Step 1: Check with your school See if your college offers internship credit opportunities. ✅ Step 2: Understand the requirements Review what documentation or approvals your school requires and their deadlines. ✅ Step 3: Communicate early with your internship program team or leader Share any needed forms or deadlines early so that team can best support you. A little planning now can help you earn experience and credit; talk about a GPA (Great Professional Advantage). 😉 #CareerTok #GetCredit #SummerInterns #PreparingisCaring #GenZCareers #EarlyCareerLife #YoungProfessionals #CareerConfidence #EntryLevelHustle

Behind every successful business, the true source of success lies in its people. It has been an honor to lead our Brilliant Internship Program at H&CO ,which continually reminds us that developing young leaders starts with understanding that the learning curve is not linear. Beyond technical skills, empowering interns to solve problems builds confidence, and allowing room for mistakes cultivates character. These experiences lay the foundation for long-term growth and success. Thank you Vault for working alongside us!

FINANCE INTERNSHIP ADVICE: Today I am hosting my annual internship prep session for our first-year MSFE students. I thought it would be a nice spin to also post here and ask the finance community -- especially those of you managing internships or who recently went through an internship program -- what is your BEST advice for exceling in a summer internship (and ultimately getting a return full-time offer)??? Can be super-specific or broad. Share it here for summer 2026 FE interns to read!
